Ah, Thursdays. My busiest day of the week over and done with already. The first week back at school always seems to go so fast - I can't decide whether or not this is a good thing, however.

In the end, we made a last minute decision to spend the holidays in Paris. If we had gone back to Québec, it would of course have been one long journey to get back to France, and then of course I would have to go back to school to get the carriage back here, anyway. It was so nice to see Le Palais again, though very strange to think that we would not be staying there along with the rest of our fellows for the spring term.

I hope everyone is feeling sufficiently rested now after the chaos that is the return to school. Coach Marat and I will be finalising the training schemes over the weekend, so if there is anything you have not mentioned already but you feel worth doing so - either as individuals or matters of whole team development - then let me know when you can. The plans are never set in stone, because I think we need to be flexible enough to allow for any changes that may occur, so don't feel you cannot approach either of us with your concerns throughout the term. I am certain that Didi is the same - oui, mon cher?

Oh, and by the by, I brought some of my magic-friendly yoga manuals back with me from France, so if anyone would like to join me in a practice, you would be most welcome. I was glad to be able to take it up again during the holidays - it's one of those multi-purpose activities that is both useful and restful.

I hope you enjoy Paris! It was fun to see you at the Gala. I agree it was strange to see our school and then come back here.

[Team Fabulous - French]

I am trying to be well-rested. Hopefully as I settle in the dreams will be less confusing.

I have never tried yoga before and I wouldn't mind trying it if you don't mind teaching me.

I can't help but wish these journals were as de rigeur in France as here. It would be nice to be able to communicate in this way, seeing as owl post can be a bit slow.

TF - French

I should think they will. Disruption to routine can do that to a person, but I wouldn't think it would be too much of a problem.

Of course! I often stick to fairly simple practices anyway when I am trying to relax, so that might suit you if you want to try.

Maybe we start a fashion back home!

[TF - French]

Yes, this is true. I already find it to be a bit better. I think my mind has to get used to using all the languages again.

That sounds like an excellent plan. I need to relax. Maybe that will help with the dreams, too!

It's cute that you think I used the holiday to rest. Sleep is for Dani. Really, though, thanks. Did you have a nice holiday?

Rest isn't all about sleep, Sebastien, though we all need some occasionally.

It was all right, I suppose. I would have liked to have gone home, though.

I am honestly happy to be back, though I'll have to second Sebastien. If I had only rested, I would be about ten pounds heavier by now. But yoga is good for stretching... right? I think we could use that.

I wasn't suggesting anyone only rest, Alphonse. How dumb do you boys think I am. Merely hope that we weren't to come back to Hogwarts too exhausted to begin this term's training.

Wise move not to go back. I went back on New Year's Day morning and then was on the transport back late that night. Nearly died from exhaustion.

Paris at Christmas makes me so happy!

[Team Fab - Franch]

I will join you for yoga, but I make no promises about being lovely in the mornings. You know how we don't get on, mornings and I.

An idea for training; would we be wise to use the lake for cross-training when it warms up? It can break up the monotony of running, too.

[Anaïs]

Also, I think, if you and coach agree, I should look at eating more protein and doing bigger weights. I need to hit harder, be more effective at getting our opposition out of the game and away from Alphonse, but not be so heavy it slows my flying like the bigger beater boys. Could you help me work out a balance, please?

Me too. It is so indescribably... French.

TF - French

Of course. I expect no-one to be perfect first thing in the morning.

I agree that the breaking of monotony would be beneficial. And naturally, swimming also uses a different set of skills to running. If anyone wishes to start now, they are free too - although I would recommend warming charms until the water heats up of its own accord.

Dani - French

I would have to consult with Coach on the issue of weights as she has more technical knowledge than I do, but eating food beneficial to muscle development can't hurt. Feel free to consult the nutrition books at your leisure and we can talk about that with her at a convenient date, oui?

I think what might be most helpful, if you and Sebastien agree, is to have a good think together about your strengths as individuals, and work out what your strengths as a pair consequently are. If we do that before the next match, it will allow us to work on personal development as well as game strategy.

The two of you make an excellent pair, as your mutual trust and closeness is probably greater than that of the other teams. I think we should use this to our advantage by considering you as a twosome when we plan strategy, rather than as individuals the whole time. What do you think?
