Beauxbatons - in French

Well, honestly - for a country where some people like to turn up their noses at all things foreign, the British really do work themselves up into such a ridiculous tantrum sometimes. I can't recall a single instance where people have said such nasty things about Madame Maxime! Carrying on from Sophie's entry, if that woman isn't part giant herself, I shall eat my hat. Does that mean I care about her heritage? Not one bit. With regards to some of these people who have been so unpleasant about Professor Hagrid - such as the boy in the article - I would be very interested to know what their views on blood status are. Prejudices towards one thing are usually followed closely by more prejudices towards something else.

Anyway, on a much more pleasant note, how are things going with people's dates to the Ball? Is anyone going on another date with their partner? (Elodie, we know what your answer will be, naturellement). Henry asked me to go to Hogsmeade with him the next time there is an organised trip. I think I will. It will be nice to see how things go when attending with one of the locals.

I'm thinking that, for some, their feelings about blood purity may be along the same lines as their view on those who may or may not be completely human. Personally it's not something that worries me really - especially given my own background.

Although we're taking things slow I think they're going well. I think, well I'm hoping, that it'll be a more enjoyable trip being able to share it with someone who knows the place.

It certainly gives me concern, given that my maman is not magical.

This is what I am thinking. People who know the village will know the best places to go and at what time, like us when we take our trips from school.

My maman is halfblood, but that never seemed to bother my père or his family at all. Although I know that others might not be so understanding; so i can understand your concern.

Ouais. As such I think it'll be more enjoyable than the first trip where it all seemed a little strange and we we were still getting used to be somewhere unfamiliar to us.

I am thankful that the French Ministry appears to be more open-minded so she is able to work there. People don't realise that not all civil service posts require the worker to perform magic themselves.

And we'll be able to go straight to some of the nicer places, too. We're going to go to the bigger of the pubs to have a drink, because it's cosier in there. I have heard that some of the other places are rather silly.
