21 is not so different from 20, really.

Not unless you're American...or happened to live there while you were 18-20. Then, 21 is pretty amazing.

Is it your birthday?

Why is that?

It was yesterday. I'm not celebrating until we get back to the compound though. But I did make cinnamon rolls yesterday.

You can't drink legally in the U.S. until you're 21. I mean, there are ways of getting around it, but you do sort of have to jump through hoops a bit. So when you turn 21 it's a BIG DEAL and you get really drunk with all your friends. I lived there for a while from when I was seventeen until I was about twenty-two, so I got to experience the big American 21st b-day. Didn't really make-up for the whole suddenly having to follow stupid culturally inapplicable laws, but it was still pretty good.

Happy birthday, then! Probably a good idea to hold off on the celebrating. I take it they're not big on that.

Oh. I don't care for alcohol very much. It doesn't taste very good, and it's dangerous at times, at home, to... lose oneself.

Thank you. Yes, I didn't think it would be a good idea to do any celebrating here. Especially when I'm separated from my friends. There's going to be a party when we return, however. Everyone will be invited. To the first part at least. I'm sure not everyone will be interested in the slumber party afterwards.
