Thank you to all my well wishers, I've quite enjoyed the flurry of owls at my window bringing congratulations from friends and family, near and far. But I do wish our country's journalists would think of consulting the subjects of their articles themselves rather than relying on gossip and hearsay. Isn't it interesting how they always somehow cleverly manage to find an unnamed source? One who is willing to add just the right infusion of creativity and dramatic flair to what would otherwise be a staid news item?

But no mind, it would be foolish to tarnish such sunny days with anything other than agreeable thoughts.

And here I was hoping we'd be introduced to a brand new bouncing baby Black. Or whatever the other gossip is that seems to be buzzing in everyone's ears.

In all seriousness, how are you feeling? The announcement seemed to come almost out of no where.

I know I shouldn't let it bother me... but it does. I'm not used to being talked about in such a way.

I was unfortunately with mother when she read the stupid article over breakfast. It took forever to convince her it was all drivel and I had to suffer through her shrieks and shrill invectives. I may be turned off danish pastries for life now, which is clearly the real tragedy.

It's quite understandable. They shouldn't be allowed to make up tall tales of your life. It's a good thing most people don't believe the mindless gossip.

Oh no, now that sounds like a worse ordeal to go through than the paper itself. Luckily there are many other pastries out there to take its place, for now.

That is true! The world is gloriously full of sweets. I do hope that once the wedding itself is safely checked off of her to do list that she will return to the more docile mother I distantly remember.
