To have a week that began with such promise and joy marred by violence and death is hard to comprehend. My thoughts go out to all those affected by these recent attacks.

Might you be persuaded to pay me a visit? I'm stuck with only unopened wedding gifts and guards for company. The latter are nearly as inanimate as the former.

Among his many flaws is a decided lack of appreciation for sumptuously wrapped presents. If you would like to join me and sip wine that had been intended for the special day, I would welcome your company. Besides, who knows what mysteries lurk beneath all of those silk bows and tissue paper?
