To have a week that began with such promise and joy marred by violence and death is hard to comprehend. My thoughts go out to all those affected by these recent attacks.

Private to Sirius

I suspect where you are and can imagine what you are feeing but really, you might have owled.

Private to Astoria

Might you be persuaded to pay me a visit? I'm stuck with only unopened wedding gifts and guards for company. The latter are nearly as inanimate as the former.

Bless your heart, I would give a lot for sand and a fruity drink right now.

At least this terrible week is helping someone then! I think there is a natural tendency to hole up with alcohol and friends in the face of disaster. I've been steadily working on the bottles left over from the wedding so I don't feel like I'm in any position to judge.

Once you are able to get away, perhaps a small Holiday away from that husband of yours is in order. Only so you can have your sand and drink.

Truly so. There have been more toasts to the Queen than I would have imagined. No reason to judge anyone. If it hadn't been so busy, I probably would have joined in the grief, or festivities as some are calling it.
