Gretel is VERY MUCH against eating magic!food. Especially candy. She's happy to do most of the hunting, since it will keep her mind occupied.
She'd also reiterate that she's not dragging him anywhere. He can come if he wants, and by that point (a few days of 'bonding') would prefer not to be alone, but she can't just sit and wait.
