ღ HISTORY ღWas stuck in the system at the age of 5 and went through multiple foster homes before finally being adopted at the age of 10 by a black couple named Desiree and Tyrelle. Prior to this, she never really was a good fit with families and had even stopped unpacking the small amount of things she had because nowhere was going to be permanent. For months after moving in with the Woods’, even through the eventual signing of adoption papers, she would repack all of her clothes daily just for Desiree to unpack everything and put it back in its place in the closet or dresser trying to prove to Jersey she really did have a home now, something that wasn’t going to be just another scenery for a few months before she was pushed along.Lives with her Hispanic best friend Jessika who dances under the name Jayzmin at the same club where Jersey’s been a bartender for the past couple of years. In addition to her part time job, she also dabbles in doing small drop offs or cash pickups for one of the local drug dealers. Sometimes purebred puppy-napping if she can’t get them to pay up so th dealer can always get his money one way or the other. Her last serious relationship, with a girl named Everly, ended messily because of drugs as well, only the ones she used and not the ones she helped get rid of. After eight months of things going swimmingly, Jers took advantage of the fact her girlfriend worked in a pharmacy. When a large bottle of Percocet went missing it didn’t take Everly all too long to trace it back to Jersey especially since she seemed to stretch her personal stash much longer than normal. Apologies weren’t enough; the trust had been broken and Everly had to walk away from it all. She was able to deal with the pot smoking and the pill popping, even though she rarely did so herself, but the stealing and the attempts to lie about it when she first suspected Jers was more than she could take, especially since it could have cost her her job. Luckily this happened before Jers ever moved in with her so she didn’t have to worry about getting her stuff back as it was all still in the apartment she splits with Jessika. It wasn't long until they moved to Savannah just to get Jersey out of a toxic situation. Or five. Not all of them were gone as Kade, the dealer she worked for, hooked her up with a cousin because she'd always need that extra cash. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
ღ Personality ღTends to be very laid back, goes with the flow. It takes a bit to make people be a total turn off for a friend or acquaintance, but it’s not impossible though she does try to overlook the first couple hitting of buttons. Everyone makes mistakes or crosses a line here and there. Shit happens. She’s a lot more open minded than some when it comes to faults or behaviors and those don’t always make up the full person. Not too judgmental you could say.She’ll talk openly about her adoption. If you’d ever see her with her parents it’s no wonder why because she looks nothing like them and isn’t even the same race. This fact has never bothered her. They gave her the home she never thought she’d have and the love she never thought she deserved. After being pushed along from home to home so much, until she got very comfortable with the Woods’ a while after the adoption, she thought she was bad or something was just off about her. After all, her mother gave her up when she was five so clearly it was her fault. It took her years to break that feeling in her brain but once she did it never really floated back. Her self-confidence is high and it’s no doubt due to her upbringing by overly accepting parents who were always supportive and telling her she was made just the way she was supposed to be. She can tend to be an open book. While she doesn’t use the looks she know she has on a constant basis to get things or be persuasive, it does help getting those nice tips at the bar. She figures that counts as part of the job and doesn’t reflect negatively on her. After all, everyone’s gotta play something up once in a while; hers is just a few times a week. She can tend to be on the flirty side often but that’s more just her and not related. It’s fun to pass that sort of play back and forth. If she’s not really interested though she’ll be up front about it and not just lead someone on intentionally. Jers has a special someone who lives on her bed. His name is Mr. Jenkins and he’s the only thing left from her actual childhood, from her biological mother, and is a pink Doodle Bear. He’s faded from too many washes over the years and not in the best condition but she’s never going to get rid of it. Jersey loves to cook. From a quick breakfast in the morning to a new recipe that keeps her up until 3am, she's always down for feeding anyone and everyone. Good thing, because Jess can't make all too much. She tries to keep the serving size down but if there's too much leftover, or something that won't hold up in the freezer, it's a free for all for anyone who wants it. Anytime you come to her apartment, there's a good chance she will try to feed you. If you ever leave her place hungry, it's your own damn fault. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
