Yes, that is the masquerade ball. It's an annual event we hold every year for staff and select invitations. Which just happens to occur on the same weekend as your boyfriend's birthday. Don't worry, I'll find someone to take your place on my arm that weekend. However lovely you would've been, and you always were so lovely.

	I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money, I might be taking it as a right that comes with being a 'girlfriend' though. You do enjoy referring to him as that don't you. I feel as though this may be a subtle hint I should pay more attention to. I have plans this Saturday in Boston I could bring dinner by on Sunday if you are not already busy.
