The rather pathetic need and desire to try and break everyone else's pets during this particular week is always rather predictable. Imagine if you all put the effort and imagination that you put into trying to hurt each other, into more productive means, just how successful you can all be. Sad, truly and pathetically sad.

In the 1800's few had electricity or indoor plumbing. I believe some things change for the better though I am perfectly capable of looking after myself.

I would; so long as it was clear that the term was Inferiore rather than inferior. Mostly though, I try to call him by his given name.

Slavery has existed in this world for at least four thousand years. Perhaps even six. It only ceased in the last century or two for the majority of the world. Instead, we refer to them as minimum wage workers. Nothing has changed but the terms.

I find it cute that you'd be willing to use a word that means what you don't want it to mean. Or did you really miss the whole Superior and Inferior meanings behind such titles?

But those working for the minimum wage can at least take some comfort in knowing they have the right to make their own decisions, to complain about their lot in life and not be tossed out on the street for an offhand comment. Perhaps it would be a more pleasant country if those at the top considered paying the blue collar workers and public sector workers a little more.
Idealistic perhaps but still a valid point.

My apologies. I did not mean to come across as cute. Rather I wished to convey my point that those terms only have power if we give them power. I have no inferiors.

Really? Have you ever worked a minimum wage job? Just try to complain about your lot in life to your boss without losing your job. Or being fired for making the wrong comment. They're called wage slaves for a reason.

Not idealistic. Naive.

Oh, I'm very sure you don't mean to come off as cute. It wasn't a compliment by any stretch of the imagination. We all have inferiors. We all have superiors.

Actually yes. I waitressed throughout high school and some summers of college and before that, I had a paper round and helped out in my Grandfathers shop. I come from a long line of people who are prepared to work very hard and I'm proud of the fact my hands are not soft and useless.

Hopeful.

I never denied I have superiors or those whose opinion matter to me and advice I seek out but I will not denigrate others by saying they are inferior or 'slaves'. Sir.

And besides helping your grandfather, especially with the waitress job, did you have the ability to say what you wanted or complain when you wanted without losing your position? Somehow I doubt it, given the ten million people waiting to take your job from you.

Naive.

Really? So, you're going to sit there and tell me you don't think you're better than someone at something? Not one single thing?

I had certain .. freedoms but good manners dictated my behaviour. That made me courteous rather than a wage slave.

I am smart and talented at skills I work extremely hard to hone. The simple fact that my tuition is paid for does not mean I am automatically better than an inferiore for that alone.
Money does not always equate talent or skill.

No, it made you a wage slave who knew better than to push her limits and lose her job. You're trying to fluff up a fact.

Again, with the fluff. I'm not talking about money. I'm talking about talent and skills. Quit dancing around the subject and answer the question. Unless you're ashamed to admit that you're better than others at something.

It made me smart enough to know that taking home a paycheck was more important than proving how free I was.

You're very used to people answering your questions, aren't you Sir? It's a very direct brusque way of requesting information.

I am in the top ten percent of my class and I have enough skills at swimming to be have been named Captain of my team. Those are things I work hard at and can be proud of.

Just like how the majority of Inferiores have decided taking home a diploma is more important than proving how free they are.

I am used to having people answer the questions I ask, and most know I have no tolerance for those who try to dance around an issue without answering because they won't like what they say.

So, you're superior to 90% in your field and nearly everyone else on your swim team. Seems there are a lot of people inferior to you.

Like they have a choice Pearson doesn't have a set of revolving doors; once you're in you're there to stay.

How interesting.

I've been lucky and I work hard. I don't have a Superiority complex or a stick up my ass because daddy bought me too many toys as a kid

With all due respect Sir, I don't believe it would be fortuitous to continue this vein of conversation.

And yet, knowing the price, how many stay? How many return for a Master's or a Doctorate degree? You're focusing on a single detail rather than the whole thing.

Now you're getting defensive. I never said anything about a superiority complex. I just said, using your own words, who you are superior too. Nothing more, nothing less.

No, it would definitely not be fortuitous for you. Soon, the hole you are digging for yourself will be too deep to climb out of. Though, I had been amusing myself with seeing how long it would take for you to give up.

I think, perhaps knowing the system as it is, I may very well be one of those who return.

Defensive? No Sir. I'm a very mild-mannered person and rarely go on either the offensive or defensive.

Allow me to wish you well in your day before you go swanning around on your sanctimonious smug ass. I hope one day we can continue our conversation.

An interesting hypocrisy is it not? Decry the system for it's abuses, yet take the opportunity to indulge in what it offers.

And yet, the moment I point out a fallacy it is We should stop talking.

Somehow, I doubt it is sincere, but I look forward to the day you're able to actually have this conversation.

No Sir. Not really a fallacy, merely an observation that debating with a Professor the intricacies of Pearson when I have my tuition paid for me is not the wisest of moves.
