Congratulations to all of the 'fresh meat' headed to the pitch for the start of what promises to be another exciting season of Quidditch.

Summer is coming to a close and soon the leaves will begin to turn. We must consider what the next step in our lives is: do we remain the same, average fools we are day to day, or do we push ourselves further?

Captains
You are at the pinnacle of your career: the leading force of your team, and an inspiration to all of the young Quidditch players and fans out there that would love to be like you. I put this to you: would you like to use that power for good? To further inspire the masses? If so, I have an offer for you.

Ms. Macmillan
Have you spoken to your employer, as of yet?

The next step is NEWTs, Uncle Pete. Of COURSE there will be pushing. And revising. And summarising and colour coordinating and proof reading and flash card making.

This makes me anxious just thinking about it.

But yours were like a billion year ago are over and done with. You never have to worry about them again! That's the point, right?

Well, yes, though I'd prefer to forget they ever existed. I didn't earn many.

I don't think anyone minds, you're a PROFESSIONAL CAPTAIN professional captain.

Yeah. I mean, you don't need NEWTs to play Quidditch, but I won't be able to play forever...

Maybe you could write a book about playing, or something? Most retired athletes in the muggle world do pretty well since they make so much in their playing days, they can really just do whatever they like when they're done. Like probably eat all the desserts they didn't have when they were training.

I was thinking of saving to take part ownership with mum in Portree. I don't think I could let go of Portree. Not fully.

Sounds as if you are rather looking forward to your seventh year, my dear.

Yes! Only it's also kind of sad that it's my last year AND my best friend isn't there. But then I won't have to leave home for so LONG all the time, which would be better.

I'm sure the year will breeze right by.

Probably, but then I have to be a grown up.

What is wrong with grown ups?

Nothing, I just don't know if I'm ready to be responsible ALL THE TIME. What if I just want to have a lie in or go down the shops with my friends or have ice cream for breakfast?

I still have days like that.

Then maybe growing up will be okay.

I'm sure it will.
