Nyx is somewhat feral due to his life in the woods, but he's charming and charismatic; he has a low, rumbly laugh that comes from deep in his chest and a baritone voice. If he likes you, he's rather talkative and informative, particularly about the inhabitants of the woods - he likes to expose people to new things that he knows about. He is by nature flirtatious and sexually active, which ranges from generally amicable to aggressively amorous depending on the season and his mood and the mood of his intended. He loves music and singing, dancing, drinking, indulging - he has a debauched personality and moderation is not in his nature. In his natural form, Nyx might be intimidating to some - he stands at 6'5" but if you count his horns, it's closer to seven feet. He is a strong, muscle-bound figure with numerous scars on his skin, and he often paints himself for decoration with pigments. He wears his hair long and it is multi-colored like a brindle coat of a goat, and he has large curling ram horns emerging from either temple. His teeth are sharp fangs and his eyes are golden brown, his fingers ending in sharp gleaming claws. He often wears facial hair, and runs the woods in as little clothing as possible. His lower legs end in furred brown calves and large cloven hooves, though he walks upright. However, when he is being glamoured the horns and hooves and fangs are nowhere to be found, and his eyes take on a darker, more average brown color. The satyrs, or goat-kin, have long occupied myth, but Nyx will be the first to tell you that they are very, very real. He was born in Mercywood Forest and has lived there his entire life, growing up among the unique flora and fauna and the magick there. He appears to be in his late thirties to mid-forties, but in truth he is over a hundred years old, satyrs just age slower than human counterparts. Their average lifespan is roughly three hundred years, sometimes a bit less. There are not many of them, and Nyx does not have family in the forest - satyrs are known for their appetites, and they will mate with some passing female to procreate and then rarely have much to do with those females or children after.
Nyx spends much of his time in the forest by choice - he has never been to the town proper, only the outskirts of the college, and he is curious but not exactly chomping at the bit to join society. He prefers spending his time with animals and plants, surrounded by his beloved woods - the magick there fuels him and nourishes him, and he protects the forest.
