Well, there's a lonely corner waiting; two sets left for playing. And I'll tell her everything she wants to hear. Well I'm not worth the love that's making, I'm better at the breaking. A guy like me knows how to disappear.

2. Personal Information:
Likes:
- Quidditch: It's been his passion and his obsession ever since he learned how to walk. Sometimes it annoys him a little though, like when they lose, but his father pushes him to keep the dream alive.
- Art: Aside from Quidditch, this is Mark's other passion. He knows everything there is to know about art and art history, though he isn't an artist himself.
- Animals: Mark's soft side comes out when animals are in danger or hurt. He hates seeing animals being mistreated and will certainly make a big fuss about it.
- Girls: They're gorgeous. What's not to love about them?
- Pasta: Especially spaghetti. His parents used to joke that he was probably part Italian from how much he wanted to eat spaghetti all the time.
Dislikes:
- Things that waste his time: When he talks, he likes to get to the point of things and not dilly dally all about. He expects the same from others, though he gets impatient when he doesn't get it.
- Being told what to do: He does what he likes.
- Fakes: There is probably nothing worse than a person who is nice to you just to get something out of you. Fake people need to just go away.
- Things he doesn't understand: He tries not to worry about these things, but they bother him.
- Bodies: He has a terrible fear of dead bodies and will not even attend a funeral as a result. He went to Megan's but had to wait outside until it was all over. Even the sight of a casket sets him off.
Goals: Play professional Quidditch.
Personality (Including Strengths and Weaknesses): Mark is not a typical Hufflepuff. Or at least he doesn't play by the typical Hufflepuff rules. While he is hardworking and generally accepting of everyone, he still believes that everyone in life has their place, and they should all stick to it. Mark believes purebloods and fullbloods are superior to Muggleborns though not necessarily better at magic. He just thinks they should be given a bit of respect, sort of like the Muggle royal family. Just because they don't have as much power as they used to doesn't mean they are less worthy of being royal. However, he treats halfbloods and muggleborns just like everyone else.
Mark can be overly critical of his peers and sometimes even his professors. He will question something if he feels it isn't right, though he isn't as stubborn as to not admit when he's wrong. When it comes to his studies, however, he is always on the ball and very organized with his work. The same goes for Quidditch. Unlike most people, Mark doesn't take Quidditch as a fun activity. He considers it to be his work and strives to be the best. He works hard, probably harder than anyone on the team, because he knows that his spot as Seeker is one he has to live up to, since it last belonged to Cedric Diggory.
Mark's biggest problem is his fear of commitment. He's dated many girls in the past, most notably, Miss Megan Jones. And while his loyalty to his family and friends is off the charts, he can't seem to stay faithful while in a romantic relationship. He doesn't mean to be a dick about it, but he can't help that he likes a lot of different girls. There is a part of him that wishes he could remain faithful and be a good boyfriend, but for now all he really wants to do is have fun, have sex and have a good time.
One of his biggest strengths is his ability for Quidditch. He has been playing the sport since before he could remember (thanks to his dad) and has managed to do well for himself with his innate talents. He is also capable of following through with anything he sets his mind to. Even the most impossible feat can be accomplished if he wills it so. His weaknesses lie in his communication skills. He often comes off as too brash and has trouble effectively communicating how he feels. He has been called a blood purist for this reason, though he doesn't believe he is one. He is also rubbish at "nonsensical" magic such as Divination.
3. Background: Father: Nicholas Summerby Mother: Karla Summerby Siblings: None Other family: Various cousins, some his age, some older but most have attended or are currently enrolled at Hogwarts Pets: Horatio, tawny owl Friends: TBD Current and Past Relationships: Dated several girls in the past including Megan Jones.
Character History: Mark was born to Nicholas and Karla Summerby. He was their first and (would be) their only child. With a long line of witches and wizards (and also some muggles but mostly through marriage), the Summerby's pride themselves on being (not exactly Purebloods but) Fullbloods. It was something they taught Mark from an early age, that he shouldn't look down on people, but he should also learn to be proud of who he is and where his family comes from. Though the name Summerby is not one of those commonly associated with the famous Pureblood families, Mark learned to wear it proudly.
As a child, Mark enjoyed being outside. With his father constantly out playing for Puddlemere United, it was almost always just him and his mom. From an early age, Mark learned to plant flowers and trees. He learned to take care of animals (especially magical creatures with whom he shares a special connection), and he watched his mother paint. As he grew, he developed a fondness for art, though never being able to actually draw or paint quite like his mother could. Not only was she an artist, but she was also an art dealer, mostly involved with the magical community and paintings that moved with life within.
During his spare time, Nicholas would take Mark out flying with him. Even after the injury Nicholas eventually received that took him out of Quidditch forever, he still did his best to teach and train his son in the ways of flying. There wasn't a doubt in anyone's mind when Mark received his Hogwarts letter. He was a born wizard of course, and he would go on to be sorted into Hufflepuff, for which his parents were surprised yet proud never the less. Hufflepuff was a fitting house for a boy who enjoyed various things at once and who constantly strove to better himself.
Being a Fullblood while muggleborns were being petrified, Mark wasn't all too worried about what was going on. He wasn't involved in the political aspect of blood purity, though he was glad that it was only muggleborns being petrified, despite one of his own housemates being affected. As the years went on, Mark grew eager to join the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, though there were still quite a few star players on the team, most notably, Cedric Diggory, whom Mark idolized.
Unfortunately, he would not be able to join the team until much later and due to Cedric's horrifying death. In his fourth year, Mark became Hufflepuff's Seeker, and he hasn't looked back since. Though it felt awkward taking over the position of one of his fellow, dead housemates (the sight of his body lying limp on the ground still gives him nightmares), Mark tried to make the best of it. He still maintained high marks in all his classes and managed to somehow evenly divide his time between studying and practicing like crazy. At one point, he was even able to date Megan Jones and still keep up with all his work. Nothing short of magic.
It was becoming evident, however, that the issues surrounding blood purity were not going away any time soon. Mark found himself time and time again defending his blood status, saying that it was important to him that he was a Fullblood, and that things of that nature should be recognized. He didn't get many positive reactions to that, but Mark didn't mind. He was focused on making his family proud and doing his best in everything he did. Politics meant nothing to him in the grand scheme of things.
Only when things started getting hairy during his sixth year did Mark start to wake up to the atrocities that were happening right before his eyes. He often wonders how he can sleep at night, knowing he saw so many of those things and yet did nothing to help out. But it was all a matter of protecting himself and his family name. So, when the Battle of Hogwarts arrived, Mark stayed out of it. It wasn't that he was being a coward. He wasn't afraid to die despite his ever present fear of dead bodies. He just didn't want to get involved one way or another. And he didn't want to leave his parents without their only son, as Cedric had.
After the battle, Mark reluctantly emerged to find that Megan was dead. They had broken up a while ago, but it still pained him to know she was gone. He couldn't even stay in the Great Hall where all the bodies were. He had to walk away, to sit by himself and think about everything that had just happened, though none of it really seemed to change his mind about his pride in himself and his family. Afterward, he attended Megan's funeral, though again could not bear to see her dead body. Yet sometimes when he's really tired from Quidditch practice, he dreams about her, while she was still living thankfully. And he wonders if maybe she wasn't trying to convince him, even in death, that everything he had always believed about himself was wrong.
