Of course he wouldn't just give you her, Potter. You have to find her. Think. If you were hiding the redhead, where would she be? Of course she'd be in the library, but that would be too obvious. That's not his style. He wants to make you sweat, and Merlin, I'm in my best suit, that bastard. Was. I have no idea what this garb is, but it's not from the Capitol, that's for certain.

Oh, did I mention that there are multiple versions of Lily here? As if things weren't twisted enough already, he puts copies of her out there and ages them differently. Bloody fanfuckingtastic.

Or. You know. He could have not done any of the above to make me paranoid. He's not above doing that either. I guess I better get started. Where the fuck is Snape when I need him?

My names is James Charlus Potter, the winner of the 1976 Healy Game. I am currently seeking a Miss Lily Evans. If you have any information as to her whereabouts it will be in your best interest to tell me now.

[ Ted mostly looks bored and slightly annoyed ]

You win the right to be happy. You'd understand if you were a victor.

[ Cheeks are burning with indignation ]

Happiness - I think everyone deserves the right to be given that, but people are not prizes. He does not get to be given a woman. We are not things that can be exchanged for a job well done! On behalf of that poor Lily Evans who isn't here, I am livid.

[ Anger flares in Ted's eyes and he wrings his hands together; an attempt to keep calm ]

Right, well you take that matter up with President Healy. You see how it feels to have everyone you love murdered because you want to choose who you love or how to be happy. That poor Lily Evans was spared hell in the arena. It very likely could have been her encouragement that James played Healy's game and was awarded her.

[ Lily grinds her teeth. She's thinking of dropping it, but before she turns off the camera she starts again ]

I accept that the world you come from is a horrible place. The worst place, even. But you cannot call a person a prize. A person cannot just be handed to someone else. What, she's supposed to just quietly go and be his little trophy? That girl has a brain in her head and a heart that beats just like anyone else, and because this Potter has done what he's told, her life doesn't matter? She's just another thing he gets to own? That's bullshit, Ted, I'm sorry. We are never going to agree on this.

Quite simply, it is a matter of life or death.

Healy does not award people at random. It does no good to have a reward the player doesn't care for. There was a reason Miss Evans was awarded to Mr. Potter, likely because it was a prize they both wanted.

[ Still frowning, but she softens a little ]

Like they love each other? She's not just a prize?

The way he's reacting should let you know she's much more than a prize. Healy can give a "prize" at any moment - those are not special.

I'm sorry, Ted. I'll try to be more patient. [...] I'm probably blaming him for my James. He's a bit familiar.

I am sorry as well. I find myself often struggling to explain how things work in my world.
