Of course he wouldn't just give you her, Potter. You have to find her. Think. If you were hiding the redhead, where would she be? Of course she'd be in the library, but that would be too obvious. That's not his style. He wants to make you sweat, and Merlin, I'm in my best suit, that bastard. Was. I have no idea what this garb is, but it's not from the Capitol, that's for certain.

Oh, did I mention that there are multiple versions of Lily here? As if things weren't twisted enough already, he puts copies of her out there and ages them differently. Bloody fanfuckingtastic.

Or. You know. He could have not done any of the above to make me paranoid. He's not above doing that either. I guess I better get started. Where the fuck is Snape when I need him?

My names is James Charlus Potter, the winner of the 1976 Healy Game. I am currently seeking a Miss Lily Evans. If you have any information as to her whereabouts it will be in your best interest to tell me now.

I've no doubt about that, Harry. Women aren't prizes to be awarded.

Yeah, but their Healy's idea of winning is to kill a bunch of other people. Why shouldn't he think people could be awarded as prizes, too?

If they loved each other and got to be together in that world, especially after having to go through the Games, then [...] that's something.

You're beginning to understand. I wish I could say the same for your friends. Thank you for that.

Hermione's just arrived, she's not used to how [...] different the other worlds can be. That our morality doesn't necessarily apply, especially to yours. And that people shouldn't be angry at you for having to play by really awful rules you didn't make. They just haven't thought about the fact that you're probably even angrier about it than they are, and that you have even more right to be. I understand that.

It's impossible to make people who have never been forced to live through it understand. You've done things you regret that someone else forced you to, haven't you?

I haven't been in exactly that kind of situation, but. I guess I've been through things that help me understand it, yeah.

It doesn't sound like he views her as a person rather than a piece of meat. If he loves her, brilliant, but it isn't coming across that way.

She's a piece of meat to Healy, not to my dad. Merlin, don't you understand it's even more fucked up for them than it is for you? To have to win her some horrible, awful game, to have to kill just to live and to manage to be happy? Don't take it out on him, it's not his fault.

Ugh, I'm sorry. It's just so different, I can't get my head around it.

He loves her, right? Because I can understand the will to live for people we love.

I know. I've been here a lot longer, I've heard a lot about the other worlds. The games world and the UWN world are pretty awful, but [...] we just have to remember that we can't save every world. And that not everyone who comes from a bad world is bad, any more than someone who came from our world should be blamed for what the Death Eaters did, unless they were a Death Eater.

I think so. Or he used to, at least. He said he can [...] learn to love her again. I think he might mean that it's just been [...] I mean, he's been through so much, loving someone must be difficult. What he said about her being the first good thing to happen to him since he was in the arena [...] I think he loves her, yeah.

When you're back on the compound, can we meet up? I'd rather ask you my questions, and I'd like to see you.

That's romantic. I hope he finds her. Everyone deserves love.

Definitely. I don't know when it'll be, but I'm hoping it'll be soon.

Yes. I especially want it for my parents. [...] Some of the worlds are even more awful for them than mine are. Or this one is, at least.

Good, because I'm more confused than I've ever been.

He'll find her, Harry, I know it. Your Dad didn't give up on her in our reality, he won't in his, either.

You get the hang of it if you hang around here long enough. Although this place does keep finding ways to shock you, too.

Ha, that's very true. Bit more complicated now that he's here, though.

I hate being shocked.

Complications aside, time doesn't stop when people are taken, so if he was on the way to meet her in his world, he's probably already gotten there, yeah? It's just here he hasn't found her yet.

Ted did say that Lily was the girl he loved. That, at the very least, makes sense to me. Perhaps we ought to understand what's going on before we hasten to judge.
