Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

So, here's the deal. Friend of mine moved back in to town recently and she's been crashing on my couch. She's moving into her own place this weekend, and I've convinced her to have an apartment-warming thing. But! She owns a sleeping bag and that's about it. So what I'm thinking is -- if you want -- come over and bring some piece of furniture you don't need any more. A spare chair, floor pillow thing, old TV, futon, hell I don't even think she has spoons and forks. Her new place isn't huge, and she's pretty low-key so she would probably say she doesn't need a lot but I figure between us all, we could probably get her started.

Also, I told her I'd introduce her to my friends, since I've failed at doing that, so more incentive to show up.

Plus, I'll bring food and beer.

Yeah her place is tiny and her mom's coming to visit so I said she could stay here for a while at least.

That's cool.

So how's that work -- her mom?

Well. The parents that raised me are biologically our parents but when we were born, at the same time, another woman had her baby. That baby passed away just after she was born.

Only the hospital mixed up my twin for that child, and my folks raised me, and then Tampa made sure we found out about it a couple months back.

So! Her mom that raised her, rather than the one we have in common.

Got it.

Man, even without Tampa, we live in one hella crazy world.

Well most of that happened in Tampa.

But before all the crack, it's true.

You know, we should start dating things like that. BBC. "But before crack".

Could make a catchy city slogan.

Then again, the British TV network might get upset with us.

I'm sure we can come up with something snappier, two creative types like us.

Tampa: Tap into the magic.

Disney would cream us for that one.

They'd whip us like a couple of particularly disobedient horses.

Crack: It's what's for breakfast. And Dinner. And Lunch*

Hmmm. Kind of hard to fit all that in a magazine ad, I bet.

And they probably wouldn't be all into, something like "Tampa: It's Crack."

Yeah.

Though the drug barons would probably appreciate the publicity.

You gotta wonder what *they* think of the Tampa crack.

That it's all good for business, I imagine. I mean. I'm not into the whole banned substances gig but we all have our things, right? Coffee, exercise, booze, sex, chocolate...whatever.

And I know I've been mine way harder since this all began.
