So there I am, looking at this empty lot with the real estate agent. Suspicious fire, tax evasion, insurance fraud, yada yada yada. Foreclosure = Cheap. Cheap is good. Cheap is within my budget. Cheap means I can afford to build what I want.

And then, then he says. "Shall we go look at the warehouse"? "Warehouse?" says I, looking blank.

It turns out that this guy owned two warehouses on adjoining lots and tried to burn them both down when he ruined his businesses, etc, etc. Something like that. Anyway, he succeeded with one, hence, empty lot, but the fire department managed to save the second one.

Arrests, trials, sob story all over. Real estate agency that's working with bank figures it can sell them better two for one. And of course, basically as is. The outside of the warehouse is a little scorched but the inside is still in good shape.

So, long story short: I have it on contract. Which means I made an offer and they accepted but we still have to do the inspection and finalize all the details.

Oh, and!

I know it doesn't look like much, but I've got this picture in my mind and I did a quick sketch. I've got room for both beginner and advanced and can even put a huge pool outside for bikers. (Not a swimming pool. It's a really big bowl. For bikes.)

I'm going to have to hire a contractor to build out one end so I can have a front desk, rental shop, lounge, and then storage and office upstairs.

...

I'm going to need an office.

...

Well that'll depend on when the final papers are signed and I get the keys. So, let's say warehouse with your place as backup?

Oh, hey. I'm inviting the kids too. And their bikes.

Only maybe not the bikes if it's at your place.

Good idea. Seeing as how it'll be their place.

And we'll figure something out about the bikes if it does end up being at my place.

I forget -- how long's your driveway?

Not terribly long but part of the garden might be used? It's in need of rearranging anyway.

Lawn is kind of hard to trick out on, but hey, we'll give it a shot. They won't complain too much either way.

How about earth?

We could get rid of the grass. I was thinking about making a stone path up that way.
