So you keep showing up in my dreams lately. And not in a good way. Not even the least bit sexual or anything. So cut it out, would you? I'm starting to think you're a fucking stalker.
[ /Caradoc ]

So I never took Divination, because it's shite. But I'm wondering, do you do dream interpretation, or is that just something Muggle nutters dreamed up? (Yes that's a pun, laugh, all of you, laugh.)

[ Private ]
I keep waking up feeling like I don't really remember what happened, only that somehow I knew, knew he was dead but no one would tell me. And I wake up feeling exhausted, like I spent the night crying, and searching, and worrying, and it's fucking awful and needs to stop.

On the bright side I'm fairly secure in the knowledge that I'm not psychic.

Oh bollocks, you're not buying into that rot are you? Thought you were better than that, Meadowes.

[ Dorcas ]
You seem to have hexed a load of spilled ink for me to read. Everything all right?

I am infinitely better than that. Just curious.

[ Caradoc ]
I'm being cryptic. It's all part of my plan to cultivate an air of mystery. I hear some people find it irresistible.

Speaking of which, you were definitely right about Oliver. I caught him staring at me the other day like maybe if he just concentrated hard enough, he could make all my clothes fall off through sheer willpower alone. Which would have been both surprising and uncomfortable.

Right. We'll see if that changes once you get some mystic to interpret your dreams.

[ Dorcas ]
Well, thanks for that. Everyone needs a little mystery in his life.

For him too, I'd imagine. He'd have no idea what to do with you if your clothes all fell off in front of him.

Well so far no one has demonstrated the least interest so it seems I´m not in too much danger.

[ Caradoc ]
Anytime.

And I find that comforting, actually. In the unlikely event he perfects his staring techniques before I put the finishing touches on the look that can actually kill that I´ve been working on.

Maybe you should go to one of those Muggle head doctors.

[ Dorcas ]
Be careful with that look of yours. Once you've got it there's no going back, and you've got to be careful not to use it at the wrong times. For example: when drinking with a friend would be a wrong time.

You´re awfully quick to suggest that. Anyway, it´s just bad dreams.

And you´ve got a point. I´ll be sure to work on my ´look that can bring friend back to life´ while I´m at it. Just in case.

I thought they did dream interpretation stuff. To see if you're crazy or not.

That's probably a good skill to have on hand, actually.

Oh, maybe. I don't know. But I don't really care whether or not I'm a nutter, just whether the dreams are supposed to mean something other than the obvious, and maybe how to make them stop. But they're less frequent now, and less vivid, so it looks like they're on their way to stopping on their own, which would be nice.

And good point. I think I'll prioritise that look over the killing one, and just give Oliver a proper tongue-lashing instead. (Tongue-lashing always sounds so deliciously dirty, don't you think? Which actually makes me not want to do it to Oliver, really...)

Alright, it's decided. If you need me, I'll be in the shop, practising.

Merlin, girl, what kind of dreams have you been having?

Good luck.

Well, boy, not fun ones. You   I wake up and I'm no head doctor but I'm thinking that what's happening is that I'm trying so hard not to think about things during the day that when I'm sleeping it all just has to come up somehow. So maybe the solution is just to worry more during the day but that sounds like not so much fun either. Or to self-medicate with alcohol.

Hey, so, this group thing you told me about? Are you still in it or aren't you because I didn't get clear on that. (Am I allowed to say that here in the journals?)

I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you could look into sleeping potions. They help.

Yeah, you could talk about it as long as your hexes are tight. We actually use these fairly often; it's why I got one. Anyway yeah I guess I'm still in. After my atta it happened I was really paranoid, thought I'd given out information and I couldn't figure out why they didn't, you know, right out kill me. I thought it was because they'd try again for more information so I tried to quit si I wouldn't be a danger to them. But nothing's really happened yet, far as I can tell, and everyone still charms their messages so I can read them anyway so I guess I'm still in. I don't think you can really quit once you're in.

Why?

I might do that. Anyway, don't worry about it, I'm a big girl and I can handle it. And hearing about other people's dreams is hideously boring so I'll stop.

So some of the other folks with journals are in it, too? Interesting. Now I can play a little "guess who" game with myself.

And I don't know, it just seemed like an important fact to get straight. You know, so if you go sneaking off at odd hours I'll know whether you're conducting a secret mission or an illicit love affair. And also, this weird guy in this dark cloak and freaky sort of mask pulled me aside at the Hog's Head and starting asking me all these questions about you? Like, first it was all 'favourite food?' 'shoe size?' 'zodiac sign?' but then he got around to 'involvement in subversive underground resistance movements?' And he got awfully cranky when I insisted I didn't know, so I said I'd get back to him right away on that.

I'm horrifically unfunny, I know.

I know you can handle it, I just don't know if you will. You and I are rather the same when it comes to actually handling personal problems. Which is: we don't.

I'm going to ignore that whole bit except to say two things: 1) I trust you whole heartedly but I won't tell you anything else about the group. Unless ... 2) If you want to join, you know you can always talk to me about it.

Which is what makes us so awesome, am I right?

You know I'm not really into joining things. Especially not things that won't let me quit. That's a deal-breaker.
