family history & relationships.

Parents:
Apolline Delacour; mother
Like many mother-daughter relationships, it has had its up and downs throughout the years. They were quite close when they were younger, but as she knew up and tried to establish her independence, it strained considerably. Since leaving for England the relationship started to improve, as Fleur’s contact with her mother became more limited. Although Fleur and Apolline can get into loud, heated arguments, Fleur relies on her mother a lot. Always happy to talk her ear off, and to listen in turn, Fleur has become quite close to her over the years and relied on her expertise when needed. Fleur now looks forward to her visits home in the summer and on holidays as she quite misses her parents, even if they are only a floo chat away. It is the sort of relationship she hopes to have with her girls, without some of the more volatile moments.
Carbonelle Delacour; father
Much quieter than her mother, Carbonelle has usually get his wife lean him around, but that hasn't stopped Fleur from seeking his council. He is the sensible one, the one she would go to for complicated issue and those opinion she counts on for the important issues. A bit of a daddy’s girl, Fleur tended to prefer his quiet presence to her mother’s louder one. There were many afternoons when she was younger where she would crawl into his lap as he read the paper and just enjoy his presence. This closeness eased a bit as Fleur was growing up, but since the divorce, she sound him out more and more frequently, especially as her father insisted on helping around the house and seeing the children. In recent years, as he’s gotten on in age, tried to visit more often, if work allows.

Siblings:
Gabrielle Delacour; younger sister
Although the girls are very far off in age, Fleur really cares for her sister and she has always been a very important figure in her life. Now that they're both getting on and have families of their own, they see less of each other, but Fleur makes an effort to catch up with her regularly.

Significant Extended Family:
Molly and Arthur Weasley; in-laws
Things hadn’t started off nearly as well with her future in-laws as Fleur would have liked. It was easy to win over Arthur, after all he was a man, and she had sway over their sort. Molly, on the other hand, was incredibly difficult to win over. Fleur tried really hard to convince Molly that she was right for her child, but it would seem that anything she did would to be good enough. In the end she was right, and although Fleur talks to them both since the divorce she's seen them less and less since the children grew up.

Charlie Weasley; ex-brother-in-law
Fleur sometimes thinks that Charlie is the only Weasley family member on her side. Fleur find him funny, entertaining, and certainly fun to be around.

Percy and Audrey Weasley - ex-brother and sister-in-law
Relationships had generally been rather strained between Percy and the Weasley family, so Fleur hasn't gotten to know him very well.

Fred and Angelina Weasley - ex-brother and sister-in-law
Fleur’s interaction with Fred and Angelina over the years has been a bit limited. She’s ta;lks to them at the family gatherings, and certainly likes them both, but hasn’t gotten to kno w either very well.
Ron Weasley - ex-brother-in-law
Fleur cannot help but adore Ron. He’s always been partially in love with her, and somehow she can’t help but find him adorable for it. Although Fleur has never been really fond of how some men react around her, Ron has always been amusing and entertaining even as he tries to entertain her. It helped that Hermione was fairly good at keeping him under control.

Hermione Granger Weasley; ex-sister-in-law
Hermione tends to make Fleur nervous and even slightly self-conscious. although Fleur knows she's smart, Hermione's considerably more so, and although she knows Hermione doesn't mean to, she sometimes feel stupid around her.

Ginny Weasley Potter; ex-sister-in-law
Regardless of how little the fiery red-head cares for her, Fleur found herself often admiring the younger girl. She has a really strong character, a great person, and part of her has always wanted to be a little more like her.

Harry Potter; ex-brother-in-law
Fleur will always feel in-debt to Harry for saving her sister and everything else.

Spouse | Significant Other: Stewart Ackerley (Partner) | Bill Weasley (Ex-Husband)
Anniversary: 15 May, 2009 (dating, not married)

Relationship History:
Falling in love with Bill Weasley was thrilling, amazing, and wonderful. Despite the war and everything else swirling about them, there was only one thing that worked and that was them. As things settle and their marriage turned into a family, their relationship changed as well. Before they knew it, every little bit had turned into an argument and the inevitable occurred. As quick and exciting her relationship with Bill was, the next was nearly the exact opposite, no fanciful emotions, no rash declaration, and no marriage, she wanted someone to be comfortable with, someone who would stay wither and accept her for who she was.

Realising she was in love with Bill Weasley The first man she had proper feelings for, Fleur was well and truly smitten. Nevertheless, there was a strong difference between fancying someone, and realising you love the; letting him in had been hard, but in the end it was worth it.

The day the divorce was finalised. It hadn't sunk in somehow. They had argued for weeks, months, and yet the idea of ending their marriage hadn't properly sunk in until she'd receive the paperwork officially making her a Delacour once more. Fleur had cried for weeks, not in front of the children, of course, but there wasn't a night when she hadn't cried herself to sleep.

Stewart Ackerley It had been over five years after their divorce was finalised and nearly five month since she'd been on her first date before they slept together for the first time. The moment was awkward, unsure and Fleur wasn't as satisfied as she'd remembered, but it hadn't been all that bad.

Children:
Victoire Winnifred Weasley - born 2 May 2002
Dominique Cosima Weasley - born July 2003
Louis Lawrence Weasley - born September 2004
Gabriel Henri Delacour - born August 2010

Relationship with the Children:
Victoire - Victoire is Fleur’s pride and join. She is the spitting image of Fleur, and was the most adorable child in the universe. Although Fleur had been nervous about her first pregnancy, when Victoire was born all the difficulties of the birth were immediately forgotten and Fleur immediately fell in love. For the first few years following their divorce, Fleur spent much of her time trying to make it up to her children. This tempered a bit when Victoire threw her first fit because she couldn't have a pony, but they soon were close once more. The teenage years were some of the more difficult ones for Fleur to handle, but she feels that now that they've turned a corner, and she hopes they can be the close once more.

Dominique - Fleur was equally happy to find out that they were going to have a second child, and Dominique happily lived up to all expectations. A lot more like her father than Fleur, she's sometimes struggled to understand her middle child. Nevertheless, she possesses some qualities that Fleur strongly admires, and although they may not understand each other, they have a solid relationship. Dominique is the strong, independent one that she knows she doesn't have to worry about, but with whom she still tried to spend time catching up regularly.

Louis - Little Louis was a big surprise to Fleur and Bill. With two little girls, Fleur had almost expected that their last child would be a boy. The Weasleys may have had a history of boys, but as far as she could remember Veelas were mostly females. Nevertheless, Louis was a very welcome addition to the little family and Fleur was happy that they finally had a little boy for Bill. Unfortunately Louis' birth was soon followed by their divorce, and in a sense Fleur sees his birth as a catalyst. She loves her son dearly, and does her very best to be there for him, but following his birth a part of her felt like Louis was the reason Bill left her. Whether she's been aware of it or not, it is for that reason that Fleur did her best to be there for her boy, make him feel loved and was extra careful with him as he grew up. Whilst she might have indulged Victoire and Dominique, Louis was properly spoiled and duly smothered. She has backed off, and his entering Hogwarts certainly helped to remind her that he was growing up, but she does check up on him more often.

Gabriel - With Gabriel being the youngest, Fleur was a well-seasoned parent by the time he was born which unfortunately for him meant that he was able to get away with much less. With Victoire nearly nine at his birth, most of Gabriel's childhood an youth benefited from having both of his parents to himself. There were still plenty of outings with his older siblings, and at times with the extended family, leaving Gabriel surrounded with a very large and involved extended family.

What is your character's parenting style?
When Fleur first found out that she was pregnant she spent months going through all of the books imaginable to prepare herself for what it would be like to be a mother. She wanted to be the type that could have fun with them, and yet be strict enough to ensure that they were raised properly. For the first few years she did indeed hold to this theory, there were the small indulgences, but she made sure that they grew up healthy and happy. Following the divorce, she struggled for the first few months to come to terms with their new arrangements, juggle the new situation, but they worked it out. Following the divorce, Fleur was extra critical of herself and the way she raised their children. Doing her utmost to be fair, she often worked with Bill to ensure that they stood together on issues concerning their children, as they still had to be a united front.

What are 3 significant events in your character's parenting life that define it?
The custody agreement It wasn't easy deciding on a custody agreement, and figuring out how they were going to split their time with their children. Of course she wanted to be there for every little moment, the first steps, teeth, even the first proper nightmare in the middle of the night. With their splitting custody on a month my month basis, Fleur found herself trying to pack as much time as she could with them when possible. They had their routines, of course, but Fleur became a very active parent, every other month, as she struggled to define herself in the interim.

Victoire's first boyfriend It's never easy finding out that your children are growing up, and Victoire had always been a bit early with her milestones. For Fleur it was as if one moment she had a child on her hand and the next she was a proper young lady. Victoire's teenage years soon triggered the rest, and she had her hands full juggling three loud, opinionated children who knew everything.

Finding out she was pregnant with her fourth - For one brief, fleeting moment, when she first found out that she was pregnant with Gabriel, she wished he was Bill's. It is a thought that haunts her to this day, and one which she unconsciously tries to make up for with Gabriel.

personality & philosophies.

3 positive character traits
- Loving - for those people Fleur actually allows close enough to see her true character, Fleur is unceasingly caring. She'd cared for Bill throughout his injuries, having mastered basic first aid spells that she would need once she joined the Order and when her sister was caught in the Triwizarding tournament had tried everything she could to get her back. A very tender mother, despite the appearance of perfect, Fleur spent much of her children's younger years, rocking and cuddling little bodies, healing and soothing little aches and pains and singing them to sleep every night they were with her.

- Loyal - Like her willingness to stand by Bill through his injury and standing by the Order when things seemed hopeless, Fleur is not about to turn away from those she cares regardless of the situation. Her family, children and partner, mean the world to her, and she will stand by them no matter what. This often means that she’s quite happy to believe her children first, as she can usually tell when they’re lying, but she believes in them and their good nature deep down.

- Intelligent - Fleur prefers serious and intellectual discussions, she likes expanding her mind, and despite the language issues she faced when younger can usually hold her own in a conversation. In the years since moving to England, Fleur has worked hard and challenged herself in her career, as she established herself in field of Finance. At home, she pushed for her children to have a more intellectually varied background, fostering their talents.

3 negative character traits
- Closed off - As a part Veela, Fleur possesses the ability to make men fall over each other to do things for her, because of this, she has a very hard time running across any genuine feelings, and as such tends to be very wary with new people, which makes her often appear cold and aloof.

- Vanity - Fleur knows well how beautiful she is, and often takes pride in this matter. She enjoys mirrors, and has several throughout the house, and when the children were younger took great pride in dressing them perfectly. Now as she's getting older, Fleur is starting to worry about every little wrinkle, and although the silver strands scarcely show in her silvery-blonde hair, that hasn't stopped her from panicking.

- Stubborn - Maybe it's her upbringing, her Veela temperament, but Fleur has never been very good at giving in. She has her opinions, on people and things, and it usually takes a lot to sway her. This is exemplified in her relationship with Bill, although they did their best in raising their children and had a generally amicable relationship, they arguments often involved points that Fleur refused to back down from. Usually it’s because she feels she’s right, but there are occasions where it’s purely on the principle.

Boggart: Her children, dead
Mirror of Erised: Herself standing next to Bill, four happy children waiving back at them
What is your character's outlook on life? Fleur likes to think that she's rather optimistic, but in truth she's generally rather cynical. She worries constantly about her children, even now that they're mostly grown, and there are many nights when she's laid awake thinking about their future.

significant life events.

3 significant moments from birth to age 11
1. Fleur spent most of her young life in the country home just outside of Paris with her mother and father. The small village had everything the family needed, and although Carbonelle worked in Paris, Fleur wasn't to see the city until she was nearly seven. Fleur had never seen so very many people in one place. It was exciting, fun and even a little scary; it very much changed how she saw the world.

2. Not long after her first visit to Paris, Fleur visited the wizarding section of Paris (Obst Rue). This visit was so very different to the one with her school, and Fleur had always known that she was a witch, her parents used magic around the house, and although most of their neighbours were muggle, the house was awarded enough that they didn't have to hide completely. It almost felt like home, and among these people Fleur knew that she belonged.

3. Gabrielle was born after Fleur turned nine. Throughout her mother's pregnancy, Fleur had resented the little intruder and what her arrival could mean for her life. Things changed when she was born. The little baby was so adorable, and like a real life doll, and as she was allowed to hold her for the very first time, Fleur promised her that she would hold her forever.

3 significant moments during school
1. Coming from a small village primary school set among friends and neighbours, the much larger and palatial Beauxbatons was a shock to the system. She had never seen so many children around at once, so many new faces, names and people to get used to was hard.

2. Robert was Fleur's first boyfriend. As she got older, Fleur started to realise just why the boys stared at her and the girls glared. She'd had talks with her mother about what being part Veela meant, and how it could be hard to discern true interest from something bough about by her heritage, but it was something else entirely to experience it. As such Fleur spent much of her time at school concentrating on her coursework and studies to improve herself, making a handful of truly close friends. Somehow, Robert managed to slip under that radar, and for once she let herself go, to a point. The kisses were lovely, but that was as far as she could let herself go.

3. The Triwizarding Tournament brought Fleur to Hogwarts and Great Britain for the very first time. Although she had learned very basic English, the trip certainly put her language and other skills to the test. It was a sincere honour to be picked as the Beauxbatons champion out of so many worthy boys and girls. What came next however was a hard, tough year, as each challenge was harder than the previous. Nearly losing her sister devastated Fleur not only for her sister's life, but because of her own failures in freeing her herself. In the end, Fleur came face to face with death for the very first time. Cedric had become a dear friend throughout the ordeal, and it hurt terribly to see his body in Harry's arms.

3 significant moments since coming of age
1. It is impossible not to mention the war and the effects it had upon Fleur and her family. Arriving in London, Fleur had high hopes of a good life and a career when war erupted around them. There were bright parts, of course, dating Bill, getting married, despite the interrupted reception. Even so, the death, fighting and standing by the man she loved as they tried to make the world a better place would have its toll and colour much of the rest of her life.

2. The divorce shaped much of Fleur's adult life. Having seen herself growing old with Bill, the divorce was a shock, yet something that she knew deep down was for the best, for Bill and their children. Blaming herself for the breakdown of their marriage, compounded by the fact that she had just given birth to their third child, Fleur sunk into a depression for several months. She did her best to hide it from the children, but in the end Apolline came and stayed with her for nearly a year to take care of Fleur and the children, when Bill didn't have them. When she emerged on the other end, ready to return from her maternity leave, Fleur had to push all of her feelings to the side in order to become the mother that her children needed. It was about them, and if that meant behaving as civilly as possible with Bill, then so be it.

3. Gabriel's birth server to solidify her relationship with Stewart, and although by that point she knew that she cared for him, it brought them even closer. It was no longer Fleur and her children, plus the man she was with, but a proper family.

Oh, that's brilliant :)

I don't have to much on her atm, though I imagine Gabrielle probably didn't spend much time in the UK before she finished Beauxbatons around 2004-5.
