Fleur Isabelle Delacour ([info]fleur_) wrote,
"Only the two? I- don't be offended, but that surprises me." Bill looked at her earnestly, unsure exactly what it was that he wanted to say. He was sure that the two boyfriends had granted her plenty of experience, but it was still so odd that someone so lovely and brilliant would merely draw in only two. But then again, when it came to the matter of sex, Bill was quite low in regard to his number of partners. Given his age, careless personality, and looks, it was often assumed that he slept around, but it simply wasn't the case. There had been two lovers, and a few snogs around Hogwarts. The relationships had all been solid and strong foundation for intimacy, and had lasted months upon months, and the girl in Egypt had been years. "The Yule Ball? What's that?"

Fleur laughed, more amused than offended. Most people tended to assume the same, that Fleur had loads of boyfriends, but in reality Fleur hadn't really trusted many boys. She was even still a virgin. "Just because most men fancy me does not mean I fancy zem." Fleur explained, though it also didn't mean she didn't flirt, nor take advantage when she'd been younger. "Yule Ball was ze dance we 'ad last December at 'ogwarts." Glancing up at Bill, she quirked a brow. "'ave you 'ad many, zem?"

"I suppose that's true." Bill nodded, "You have a habit of turning heads, I imagine it's just tiring. If you managed to turn your head at every boy who fancied you, you'd have whiplash." Her fingers were so smooth, and the pads of her fingers shuffled pleasantly against his knuckles as they walked. "Had many what? Yule Balls or girlfriends?" It was either or, and there was no real confusion. "Yule Balls might be unique to the tournament, there was never one when I was at school, but girlfriends, eh. I've done well for myself- I mean, in school, studying was my priority. My family never had much, and any life I was to have after Hogwarts would have to be made on my own, I casually dated a few girls, fancied a few more, but only had the one girl steady girlfriend there. The same really applies to Egypt, which may or may not sound odd out loud. I've just been focused on other things."
"Yes, I'd be very dizzy," Fleur said with a giggle, just imagining what it would be like to fancy just about everyone who fancied her. It would be downright impossible. She glanced up at Bill again as he spoke. She supposed she should have clarified, but decided to let him answer anyway. Fleur nodded as she listened to Bill, it was true, school should certainly be the most important bit, and she was pleased to hear that Bill thought like that. "No, I theenk I understand. We're still quite young, there's loads of time to find someone."

He wanted her to lean against him, and more than anything, he wanted to wrap his arm around her shoulders. Being wrapped up, stumbling over tangled limbs, it just felt like a perfect way to end their non-date. "Agreed, nothing is ever set in stone, nothing says that someone has to be married straight out of school. We all have time. You don't lose your capacity to love, merely because you've aged."

Fleur nodded as she moved in a little closer, walking that little bit closer to Bill. She wished the night wasn't coming to a close, but her front door just seemed to be getting closer and closer. "Yes, who knows, I may turn thirty and never 'aving married," Fleur said with a laugh. In fact, she sincerely doubted it, but it could happen. "It's better to be picky, I am thinking."

"I sincerely doubt that, but I do agree, you should never be with someone, just to be with someone. There is no one person who is perfect, but I do believe that there is someone perfect for you. Settling isn't an option, and neither is fancying someone merely because they fancy you. There should be a connection." Fleur moved in, and the moment his bicep brushed her shoulder, his heart fluttered wildly in his chest.
