Her school friends from her year in Slytherin mean more to her than most of her relatives who aren’t immediate family. Daphne is the oldest daughter of Cordelia and Alban Greengrass. They had been trying to have a child for years but with no success, and they were overjoyed when she was born. Her father had been hoping for a son but once he held her for the first time that was all forgotten. She was a daddy’s girl from early on in life, though she wanted nothing more than to turn out just like her mother. Astoria was born and while she was upset at first, due to the attention she had been getting now being divided between her and her sister, she grew to love having her as a companion. Being at Hogwarts was a great time in her life. She hadn’t spent much time with those outside of her family, or her family’s closest friends, and even rarer with those the same age as her. She thrived in the social aspects, quickly making friends with those in her year in Slytherin. Her loyalty to those she was close with never wavered, and she was in line with Draco and his plots and plans throughout the years. It was her goal to be one of the best academically but thanks to Hermione Granger, a muggle born nobody, she could never achieve it. Her interest in potions and herbology came from her desire to be a healer like her mother, and while that did not end up being the career path she eventually chose for herself she still has a healthy love for it. It was at Hogwarts where she made a lot of discoveries about herself. That was to be expected, what with her spending her teenage years there. She realized her passions in life aside from potions and herbology. She learned what good a close knit, trusting group of friends was. It was at Hogwarts that she realized that she wasn’t just attracted to the opposite gender; though that was something she kept to herself aside from the occasional very secret tryst. She didn’t have a difficult time at school when the Carrows ran it. That was one of the many perks of being a pureblood, a Slytherin, and having relations who were sympathetic to the cause. During her years at Hogwarts she had become a bit calloused toward violence and prejudice – the group she associated with had no problem with either. She didn’t participate in the Battle of Hogwarts on either side; rather she was trying to help her friends who were injured. Daphne got a job at the Ministry of Magic as soon as she was out of school. She had gotten an apartment and Theodore came to live with her. It was a great living arrangement for both of them. She hadn’t wanted to live on her own right away – not after everything that had happened at Hogwarts. It felt much safer to be with someone else, though she secretly hated that she felt somewhat dependent on him being there with her. Their cohabitation lasted for a good while before Daphne wanted to move into a place of her own, and that was when she moved to Knockturn Alley. Having her own space was wonderful for Daphne. She enjoyed the privacy, the quiet, and the ability to come and go as she pleased without having to worry about disrupting someone else. It made it easier to devote herself to her work, and now that she was able to focus on it she worked her way up through the ranks. She did it in her own way – quietly and concisely. Private: Despite the fact that she enjoys being around people more than she doesn’t, she keep a great deal of herself private unless. There are very few people she is completely open with. Loyal: For the people she cares about, she’ll do almost anything. Promiscuous: While she doesn’t want to settle down with anyone, at least not right now, she does enjoy the more carnal things in life. Orderly: It got her through school with good marks and it’s kept her going in her adult life as well. She’s very organized, though she stops short of being anal about things. Determined: When she sets her mind to something, it’s rare she doesn’t get it. LIKES -- Silk, lace, satin. Firewhiskey, wine, tea. Reading books by the fireside. Dark chocolate. Intimacy. Power.
