I'm honestly not shocked that the store was vandalized. Obviously there are going to be people who are against it opening up. And some people choose the cowardly way to show it rather than a way that would identify them in the community.

Anonymous messages of intolerance won't get anyone anywhere. All they do are convince the general public that there are ignorant bigots out there who don't have the balls to file an actual complaint.

Are you going to rush in and buy a computer on opening day?

Here's the one unpopular thing I want to say but won't because intolerance is ironically not tolerated, even though I'm not for vandalizing the place. What's this going to do to places that sell traditional things? We've got like, a dozen shops in magical communities dedicated to just that, and if quills and inks and parchment and owls and wirelesses are now out of vogue, what happens to the shops and people who sell them?

Obviously not. The likelihood of me getting anything from there is slim to none.

I agree. I worry for the shops which sell things that are "outdated" according to the people who would live as muggles do. We all seem to get along just fine currently, so why do we need a change. I am not for vandalism, obviously, but I don't like that this shop is coming to Diagon.

It's not that I mind them being there so much as I think it's unfair to say this is the new right way, your things are archaic and therefore wrong. There's nothing wrong with a Floo connect or a dictoquill, the same way there's nothing wrong with a tellephone or a computer, if the magical versions work. I have half a mind to write an unsigned, reasonable letter to the editor, but I know all it would accomplish is more free publicity for the shop, and more people talking about how it's wrong to stand in the way of progress, nevermind that it's not what I'd have written.

Do you think they're going to start a Wizarding Tellevision Network, now? When they start putting every Quidditch match in them, that's when I'm buying one.

I pretty much agree with everything you're saying. And I would only consider getting a television if there was a lot of Quidditch involved.
