So many parties, such little inclination to attend.

[McKinnon]
I heard about your altercation at The Leaky Cauldron. I do not like violence so close to my doorstep, Miss McKinnon. You're a Blackcloak, why are you involving yourself in petty bar brawls?

I apologize for any altercation that may have caused you any worry, my Lady. I was attacked by a group of drunkards. Luckily the situation was dealt with.

Apology accepted. And I know what happened, Miss McKinnon, Tom ran to me as soon as he stopped hiding underneath that rotten bar of his. What I don't know is why you were in The Leaky Cauldron in the first place. With Chief Yaxley, no less. Difficult weekend?

Cheif Yaxley just so happened to be there at the same time. I had no idea until he made to arrest those men.

I was just- It had been a long week, and I merely wanted to relax.

How curious. Chief Yaxley happened to be in the right place at the right time. A first for the DMLE.

Well, the next time you wish to relax, head further into Diagon and come to The Griffin. We do not allow yobs into our establishment, so you can drink and unwind in peace.

That is a kind offer, my Lady. I will do just that. Thank you.

Does that mean I don't have to, either?

No, it does not. Why would you want to skip any of them, anyway? That Malfoy party sounds utterly riveting. She has 'all sorts of fun plans'!

I take it you will be gracing the Wizarding social elite with your charm and good wit this weekend, dear?

Though, Lady Longbottom, I do enjoy your cutting wit at such events. And your ruthless insight. The festivities will be much poorer without you.

I am sorry to disappoint you, Lady Daphne.

[Lady Daphne]
And will you be attending Prince Sirius' birthday celebrations?

Disappointment and your name are never framed within the same sentence in my mind, Lady Longbottom.

[Lady Longbottom | Lady Daphne]
I have been flirting with the idea of witnessing that bit of blood sport; but then, mere idea of association with possible competitors at such an event simply won't do.

You're smoother than a cold butterbeer on a hot day, Lady Daphne.

[Lady Daphne]
There will certainly be much to witness. Are you not interested in competing for the Prince's affections yourself? You could be Queen one day. Just imagine.

Though smooth, it is an honest sentiment.
[Madam Longbottom]
If I even thought in the least that the Prince was honestly on thr hunt for a wife, I might entertain the idea out of whimsy. Instead I fear it's just another bunch of hedonism and mockery and my reputation and family's good name doesn't need to be associated-so publicly.

There are plenty of things to do without social events being factored into the picture, I've found, Lady Longbottom.

My thoughts exactly, Lord Percy. I expect the Minister keeps you quite busy this time of year.
