She'll never be a superstar and she prefers it that way. Still, she's not going hungry. History: Josie is the youngest of three children and the only girl. When she was a child, she developed scoliosis. Doctors observed her for a while, tried a brace for a year and eventually decided that surgery was necessary to correct the curvature of her spine. During the year in the brace, Josie took up music. (There wasn't a whole lot else she could do in that damned thing). She had a natural talent, especially for the guitar. After the surgery, she still had a slight curve which left her right leg slightly shorter than her left. She walks with a limp, wears a lift in that shoe or walks with a cane. She did well enough in school, started college, training in classical Spanish guitar but soon found it wasn't the life for her. She liked performing at bars much more than sitting in a classroom. She began to travel, performing, getting gigs by word of mouth -- everyone wanted to see the little white girl who sang the blues like nobody's business. Josie hasn't been home much, although she did make it back for her brother's funeral. She's lost touch with Brian -- they were never really close, partly because she's so much younger. She's slowly been working her way eastward, with a fairly long stay in Chicago. Most recently, she's been in New Orleans. She figures she'll head to New York one day and probably end up back in Chigao, but for now, she's content to find new places in the south to perform and to soak up the sun. Past Background Occupation: Watcher, musician, bar owner Education: School of life Activities: keeping up with Duncan, watching, music, research Home: Seattle, Paris Finance: Actually, not that bad. History: Born in Chicago, Joe Dawson served in Vietnam under Immortal Andrew Cord. In 1968, after seeing Cord shot, Joe accidentally stepped on a landmine, blowing him up. He was saved by the resurrected Cord, who carried him in back and took him to the army medical center. There he tried to tell the psychiatrist that it had been Cord who had saved him, but was told that Cord was dead. Later, he was told that he had his legs amputated. Unable to cope, he tried to commit suicide. Before he was able to do that, he was visited by a Watcher named Ian Bancroft, who told him about immortality. Joe found a new meaning to his life and became a Watcher, owing it, in his perspective, to Andrew Cord. Dawson was working as a clerk in a bookshop owned by James Horton in Seacouver when Dunca Macleod came in, led there by a clue written by Darius on the Fifth chronicle. MacLeod did not know at first that Dawson was his Watcher, but Dawson told him the truth after MacLeod knocked out two Hunters. Dawson soon broke Watcher rules by helping Macleod -- and asking for help in retun -- in various incidents. Because of the developing friendship between Duncan and Joe, he goes on to break the most basic Watcher oath, and is almost executed by his fellow Watchers but is saved by Duncan and Methos. Joe owned a blues bar (Joe's) in Seacouver, the favorite hangout for the folks -- Duncan, Richie, Methos. In 1998, the Watchers transfered him to Paris, and he opened Le Blues Bar. At one point, after being torn between being a Watcher and being Duncan's friend, he chose to maintain his friendship with Duncan and gave up the Watchers. However, Duncan convinced him to return to the secret organization. Joe has one daughter, Amy Thomas, who is also a Watcher. She is the consequence of a one-night stand with a married Watcher and it's only after her husband's death that Amy discovers that Joe is her father -- and Joe, that he has a daughter.
