01: Annoucement
As many of you have heard there has been quite a bit of rumors going around about the Siren line of succession. There was an official royal decree yesterday that I would like to reiterate here, just to dispel those rumors going around.

I am NOT the heir to the Siren throne. As I am not the King's son by blood, but just the son from another marriage prior to him, by my mother and another noble, it was deemed inappropriate for the line of succession to be passed to me. It will continue through the Syrena line as it has for generations. The crown princess has been announced as Kista Veronique Martineau.

I want to make it clear that I have nothing but support and love for my cousin and have given her my blessing and full backing. I know that Princess Kista will do her duty and honor the lineage and traditions that are so important within our society. My cousin is very modest, so please grant her the respect to accept this honor gracefully and privately. Thank you.

How are you holding up, Kiss? I know this is so much to ask of one, and I wish they hadn't asked this of you. Of course I understand their fear, but truly I feel that this is cowardly, to hide behind someone else, due to fear of Nixen interference.

Has your guardian reported to you yet? I made it quite clear to my father that if this was the course of action he insisted on taking to ensure in his mind that he wouldn't be losing another child over politics, that you were to be protected at all times.

It's kind of you to say its not cowardly, but it feels cowardly. I am a man and supposed to be able to take care of and protect my people, yet am hiding behind another of my family. It feels wrong. But I cannot argue with the King. Even if he is my father.

Not yet. Maman told me that he/she would be arriving sometime in the next day or so. You don't need to worry. Crash is like a stand-in guardian in the meantime. I'm quite safe, believe me.

I understand, I do. But you do not need to get hurt or go rushing about announcing what you are to prove you are a good man, Reed. Remember that. You're doing what's right for your people by listening to your father and laying low.

	I still worry. This entire plan is based on the idea that the Nixen will attack the heir. Perhaps you are right. Either way, my father does not budge on this. 	I know. I understand the risks. I just would rather do what I can to help. Though the only threat I see is that awful girl who made an inappropriate remark about the last heir being killed. 	Perhaps you're all right, it just seems so cowardly to hide behind someone else out of fear. And its not even my own fear, its everyone else's. How can one be expected to stand up as a leader if they start out having to hide? It seems contradictory. (Reply to this) (Parent)
