Trained under Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody. likes: fun, dancing, dueling, drinking, stars, stompy boots, her mum and da, her son, her husband, extra soggy cereal (of the chocolate variety!), her hero Mad Eye, afters before dinner, sweets, dungbombs dislikes: rudeness, her first name, Voldemort, Bellatrix, sweating, snooty people, her clumsiness, pigeons talents: Tonks isn't particularly talented in any one area, but she is a Meta, and this makes her able to change her appearance at will. alliance: Order of the Phoenix personality: Bubbly! Tonks is generally a happy girl. She makes friends easily, and is very outgoing. If there's no fun to be had, Tonks will make her own! She'll also try her damndest to make fun for others as well, and is definitely one to enjoy a good laugh at her own expense. She, like everyone else is prone to funks and depressive episodes, the only difference with her is that she sets a time limit to allow herself to wallow in it, and then she makes it a point to dance her way through it before then. God/Goddess/Historical Figure: Elizabeth I notes: Nymphadora Eva Tonks was born on the breezy spring night of May 6,1973 to Ted and Andromeda Tonks. A metamorphmagus, Nymphadora surprised her parents by changing her haircolor randomly at a very young age. The first time Ted saw her lying on her back in her crib at three months with pink hair, he'd thought she'd somehow eaten something that did it to her and became frantic, scooping up his cooing infant and running to her mother Andromeda, who just giggled and shook her head having seen the changes frequently. She was spoiled by her parents, but not outrageously so. She never wanted or needed for anything, and had many things other children her age were not allowed to have. Such as a hand me down wand (which was very very bad of Ted to give her!). She wasn't allowed to use it for magic, only for play, but once she learned a few basic spells, even the threat of Azkaban could not stop her. And much to her mother's comical dismay, her father let her get away with everything. Dora knew how to talk her da into anything. Dora, growing to dislike her first name, started going by her surname, Tonks at around the age of nine. Her schooling at Hogwarts began in September of 1984, and she was sorted Hufflepuff. Bit of a dreamer, bit of a hellion, Tonks was very well liked by her peers and professors alike. It was said you could not ask for a more steadfast friend or dedicated pupil. She made friends fast and rather easily as she was outgoing and friendly. The friends she made stuck with her throughout life, and she never turned her back on them. Even when one or two she knew strayed down the wrong path, she was there to try and help pick them up and steer them right. She was a bright witch, that could be seen from very early on, but Merlin was she clumsy. Most of the spells she cast would have been more successful had it not been for her awkwardness. She couldn't help it! There were much more fun things to think about, and her mind was always somewhere else. (Her dad often playfully said that she couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time.) After leaving Hogwarts in 1991, Tonks joined the Ministry of Magic, and started her auror training under the famed auror Alastor "Mad Eye" Moody. She breezed through the concealment and disguise portions of her training, but due to her clumsiness, the stealth and tracking portions gave her a bit of a problem. She finally qualified in 1994. In 1995, convinced of Voldemorts return with a handful of select others, she joined the reformed Order of the Phoenix, working undercover for them by guarding the secrets of the Department of Mysteries and relaying information back to the Order from the ministry. She was part of the advance guard that escorted Harry away from Privet Drive later that summer. Tonks doesn't remember when it began, but at some point during that same year, she developed a crush on Remus Lupin. He was intelligent, graceful and clever...and Merlins baggy Y fronts was he handsome. Everything Tonks desired in a partner. The more time they spent together with their work for the Order, the more young Nymphadora found herself falling for him. There were only two problems. He was a werewolf, and she believed he did not return her affections. Neither of those things stopped her pursuit, however, and she was rebuffed and crushed time and again by him and his excuses. Too old! Too poor! Werewolf! What will people say? She didn't care about any of that, the man had stolen her heart. She sunk into a deep depression. Her first real love didn't seem to want her, of course she was upset. Her personality changed, she became sullen and withdrawn and her metamorphmagi skills suffered because her heart and her mind were interwined and both were unhappy, leaving her unable to control her transformations. Even her patronus was changed from a white bull to a werewolf. Her depression was believed by most to have been caused by the death of her cousin, Sirius Black, because she had been dueling Bellatrix only moments before the woman had killed him. Only a few, including her friend Molly Weasley, knew the real reason. (Have to work out the specific relationship details with Remus mun!) Eventually, though they were in the middle of a war, Tonks thought she got her happily ever after. She was married to the man she loved in a small hush hush ceremony in June of 1997. Bliss. Shortly after their wedding, they were sent on another mission, to retrieve Harry from Little Whinging. That night, her mentor, Mad Eye, was killed by Lord Voldemort himself. Tonks was devastated, but she couldn't allow herself to wallow in her grief because not so long after, she discovered she was to be a mother. This was supposed to be the happiest time of her life. She was married to a man she adored and she was carrying his child. But there were still issues with Remus. Perhaps they'd gotten married too soon? He never really seemed sure about her... The news of her pregnancy and his old fears about their relationship sent him running, and it broke her heart. That was the first time she'd ever felt her love falter. It was obvious to her that he didn't want her nor the child she carried beneath her heart, but she was determined to be a good mum, a GREAT mum despite possibly having to raise their baby alone. Something pushed him back to her though right before Christmas, and her heart soared and filled with love for him again. Her hopes were high, they were together again at least, and everything else would be cake. Maybe they could work it out? In January of the following year, Tonks learned that her father Ted, who had been on the run from Voldemorts snatchers, had been killed. Again, she had no time to truly mourn for she gave birth to her son Teddy Remus just a few days later. He'd come a bit early, but he was healthy and beautiful, and Tonks could not have asked for more. Teddy automatically became the center of her world. He was precious, and a little metamorphmagus just like her. She was thrilled the first time his hair had gone from its natural state to a beautiful shade of blue. The new family had a few short months to spend together. In May, Neville Longbottom raised the call to arms for the DA's and the OOTP to fight the Death Eaters in the battle of Hogwarts. Remus left immediately, but Tonks ignored the call at first, wanting to stay at home and protect her son. But soon, the waiting and the not knowing got to her and she took her son to her mother Andromeda and left him with her, knowing he would be safe. After arriving at the school, Tonks asked Aberforth Dumbledore if he'd seen Remus anywhere. He told her Remus had been fighting the Death Eater Dolohov, and Tonks rushed off to find him. Before she could even reach him, Tonks met up with her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange, and was killed by means of Avada Kedavra. Her body was laid out on a table in the Great Hall beside Remus. |
