[Warded Private]

Names.

And dates. And anything that has been discussed outside of Inner Circle wards.

I suppose it is time to ensure that every alibi is air tight.

[Inner Circle]
We have the potential for a serious problem. The largest of which is that Barty is aware of names. I should like to think that the young man is serious in his devotion to the Dark Lod and his cause, and I have, I confess, never been given reason to suspect otherwise, but I believe if we are to be safe, we must assume that he may be cracked.

Outside of names, he knows that we were monitoring the senior Aurors and DMLE - and of course anything that has been spoken of outside of Inner Circle wards.

I believe Caracatus is correct that we can do little more than monitor the situation, but I wonder if we ought not say something to the ranks as Augustus warded to them all. I should hate to see one of them do something stupid, out of fear or uncertainty.

In the meantime, I suggest that we tighten how we give orders to our Outer Circle. In other words, they know only what they need to know - we trust our own devotion to the dark Lord, yes, but there are some among our outer ranks that I would not trust so willingly. If the know only what they are involved with, they can share less, should it come to it.

I also, more than ever, should like to see Bones brought to his knees. And perhaps Longbottom too, while we are at it.

I should like to encourage the implementation of these neighbourhood watch groups. With the unfortunate attack in Diagon Alley last night, it seems that such a group is timely and well needed. We are stronger together than separate.

Agreed, on all counts, though young Barty has at least proved fruitful in his providing information regarding the names I submitted him, cracked or no. All motions should be set to pass through us first and assignments on a need-to-know basis, as we have presently done with regarding our vigilante suspicions.

As for speaking with the outer-ranks, I believe it would to to all of our benefits to remind them that discretion is key when we perform our duties and to inform them that, from this point out, we will be monitoring all activity much more closely. We cannot necessarily know who might be willing to talk under the right circumstances. You are right, Patrice, certainly; the less everyone knows, the better.

As for Bones and Longbottom, I agree wholeheartedly. We have copies of files pertaining to Bones, McKinnon, Podmore, Scrimgeour, Robards and Moody. I suggest we arrange a meeting at which to research these men properly.

Agreed. In fact, I rather think we should make this clear to everyone that talk - even among the ranks is to be discouraged - for personal safety if you will.

And yes - although I feel as if I repeat this until I am blue in the face. Also - this Watkins thing? This is not something we had requested is it? If it were an extracurricular that got him apprehended I will not be pleased.

I agree. The only question is which of these we wish to take out first.

& do you wish to ward to the Outer Circle or should I prepare yet another 'reminder'?

I will draw up several guidelines, namely regarding the discouragement of talking outside of assignments for personal safety, taking on personal vendettas that are likely to compromise your position or that of others should you be caught, and a reminder that we are all fallible being human, and that our Cause will not and cannot change that. There is yet to be a cure found for stupidity nor arrogance.

I hadn't a clue who Seymour Watkins was until this mess in the papers, so I daresay not. From what I can deduce, Barty has been dating his daughter. Idiot boy.

Bones seems to enjoy making a name for himself as an adversary to our Cause, certainly.

I will take some time to ruminate and I will post for the ranks tomorrow, if it suits.

I am perfectly happy to let someone else play Daddy bear for a while. For tonight I believe I will tell everyone to stay put, be discrete and stay quiet.

There are times I feel young cubs would be more obedient!

Done. And now I think a glass of wine is in order.

You're probably right.

Myself as well. I have an engagement announcement to take care of this week, additionally.

Indeed. Isadore and I agreed that he and Dulcinea would make an excellent match.

My apologies for my tardiness. I had a meeting run late.

I am in agreement with the conclusions you have come to. I have heard nothing regarding Watkins so I can only imagine that this was some sort of 'independent' action on Barty's part.

Bones would be a good initial target. It is regrettable to have to attack a long-standing pureblood family but they are closer to blood traitors these days.

I feel I must ask the question - has our Lord been informed of the situation with Barty?

It is a shame that we have no idea what evidence they have on his involvement with this group. If it is an independent action that may make it easier.

Bones has too frequently interfered where he ought to support. Ministry loyalties do not excuse that he is working against the world he should be working towards. As a pureblooded family, honestly, they have a greater responsibility than associating with, and even encouraging, riff raff.
