I am some 1,600 years old, I shouldn't still be afraid of the dark.

Lots of my kids are still scared of the dark....sometimes their parents too, or more likely the things that choose dark to hide in. There's no shame in fear, only in what we do to try to convince ourselves we're not afraid.
