I really do hope that the skies are clear this weekend. Now that it's getting warmer, it would be nice to put my telescope to some use.

He's the heir of a major house. That is the only reason any parent would match their daughter to him. They see the social position and not the trainwreck attached to it. There are very few people Oberon has any respect for and will listen to, so not only does all diplomatic effort fall on the shoulders of those around him, but he also actively offends people without regard for the consequences. He does not care.

I'm convinced that the family has gotten so used to babysitting him and making excuses for him that shielding him from the consequences of his actions has become normal and they have low expectations for him.

It seems as though tying a daughter to someone so willing to burn the world is a dangerous political choice. His reputation is becoming more and more tarnished by each passing month, and I'm curious at how many empty bottles and failed engagements it will take for them to finally make Cygnus their true heir. If he wants to be that self-destructive, let him do it on his own without harming the reputation or legacy of House Lestrange.

It is unfortunate that they have to spend so much time babysitting this man-child.

I would prefer to spare Cygnus the responsibility of being heir and for Oberon to get his act together. That's going to require the Lestranges to show him some tough love, make him get treatment and make him get a job so that he's not home wallowing in his misery all day.

I wonder what happens when they're all too distracted to babysit? I think it might be just the push that's needed for some changes to be made.
