pretty girl on every corner. Sunshine turns the sky to gold. Warm warm, it's always warm here; I can't take the cold. streets littered with diamonds, Every one's glistening. this whole world shines so brightly, I can't see a thing. pretty as a picture. seems like a golden rain settles me with love and laughter. I can't feel a thing. the sky's gonna open. people gonna pray and crawl. it's gonna rain down fire. it's gonna burn us all. the sky's gonna open. people gonna pray and sing. oh, I can't feel a thing. pretty as a picture. she is like a golden dream.

I'm very proud of the nursing and medical students at this university for stepping up and helping in Boston. I know you think you're just students, but I've had ex-colleagues at Mass Gen telling me how grateful they were for some of the work you guys did.

I always thought my Masters degree would be enough, but being back at Pearson has me considering further training. I should look into how that would work, if it would work while still working here too.

Whoever sent the flowers this morning, if you're here, thank you. Were they for Valentine's Day or my birthday?

I hope whichever immature inferiore out there decided to litter the campus with those fliers is going to clean it up. Now.

In addition to Dr Jennings' post, I would like to add that there are a variety of staff in the medical centre, including those of us who have been in the position of being an inferiore ourselves in the past. If you feel uncomfortable with a particular professional, you can, and should, be able to ask to see someone else, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

[01 Dec 2012|04:31pm]
With this being my first actual day in the clinic, and not having an awful lot to do right now, it seemed the best time to introduce myself.

My name is Ana Edwards, I'm a new Family Health Nurse Practitioner working here. Due to unfortunate circumstances surrounding another professor, I will also be taking over some of the theory classes for you nursing students out there, so you might see me next week in some of your lectures.

I hope most of you won't have any need to visit me for health reasons other than the routine, but if you have an health issues, or you want to talk to someone about anything related, feel free to drop in or send me a message.

•PERSONALITY & APPEARANCE•
Personality
Life is a game, and it’s all about how play it, as well as how you play the other players. Ana feels like that is the most important thing people should learn. Life sucked at first, but she got where she wanted to be, and she did it via manipulation, playing the game, and putting herself forward, and these are the things that define her personality. There is a part of Ana that plays the submissive well, and knows how to please in order to achieve her aims, while another part is just the bitch. She’s very two faced sometimes. She says it’s because she has to be though. No-one else is looking out for her, and letting people in truly just leads to pain in her experience, so she fakes it. Fake it until you make it.

Appearance
Standing at 5’6, Ana is a very average height, and that’s something she can cope with, and even enjoys sometimes. Her proudest feature is not her brown eyes, or her smooth skin, or perfectly tousled brunette waves, but her legs, which are long and toned, and often shown off when she can. She works hard to keep her body toned and slim, but to be fair, the active nature of her job does a lot for that without anything else.
•HISTORY•
Anastasia Volovich was born the third daughter to Bogdana and Stanislav Volovich in the Russian Orthodox community in Brighton Beach, to be followed by two brothers, and four more sisters. Life wasn’t easy for any of them, with their mother having a little too close a relationship with alcohol, and their father a gambler who liked loose women.

It was a good thing the children all had each other to protect, teach, and look after each other, or they would never have made it to adulthood. It was only with her older sisters she learnt to speak English considering that Russian was the first language in their household, and in turn she helped the younger ones with it. That comraderie they were forced to have was what made it so hard to do what she did at 18. Disillusioned with religion, and her life in general, it didn’t take much for Anastasia to get sucked in by the wrong people, and one of those was Dave Edwards. He was a little older than her, not from the same area, and most definitely not Russian, and she thought she was in love with him. Of course her parents hated him, but she didn’t care, so when she graduated high school, and he asked her to run away with him, get married, she did it.

Dave and Ana, as she decided to go by now, got married like they said, and lived with some of his friends in Boston, him working odd jobs, her working in a diner. It seemed so romantic at first. What was she thinking? Of course, it all went sour, Dave started cheating, although he got angry when she accused him, and then he got angry at other things, and everything turned violent. Ana felt bad for it, but when, after a year together, he died in a drunken car accident, for a moment she felt relief at being free of him. That was when she met his father, and his father was how she ended up at Pearson.

With help from Dr. Edwards (who turned out to be so much nicer to her than the person her husband described), Ana got into Pearson University as an inferiore, at the age of 20. The arrangement worked for her, and after four years, she graduated and qualified as a nurse, keeping in touch with her father-in-law as he helped her get a job, and she helped him overcome the boredom of his marriage and wife for a couple of years, before he lost interest for someone younger and better, and she moved on.

A couple of years ago she graduated from her Masters at John Hopkins, where she became a Nurse Practitioner over three years of part time study, aided by her employer. Again, she worked for a while, in her new position, but then got bored again, and as it just so happened, a position for a senior nurse opened at Pearson. How could she resist that? Ana applied, and somehow managed to land the job, and she couldn’t be happier to be back, and now as a Superiore. How fun!
