It's funny how life will keep going with or without you. Something happens, and it's like hitting a wall, and you sort of feel like you can't move forward.

Lately, I've felt stuck, and confused, and a whole mess of other emotions (angry being a big one). And yet, the world has kept turning, and suddenly I feel like I'm miles behind. Why is it that I feel like I'm the only one appropriately stunned? It almost makes me angry to see people so light-hearted and happy, like nothing has happened at all.

As far as I know, nothing has changed. The weather in China has fluctuated, but no more than normal. If anything it has been fairly consistent. I have had lab results back, but haven't had time to sit down and analyze them. I've been... scattered.

I should visit. But... ~~It's stupid, but I associate China with what happened to Bill.~~

It just seems so surreal. I don't want to believe it really happened. I keep hoping that I will wake up and find out it was a dream.

I think I know what you mean. Bill decided to get married and it really freaks me out. ~~Also, I think it's kind of crazy.~~

I can understand that. I need to find you an assistant. I'll add it to my to do list for next week. Are there any special NEWT qualifications you would prefer? Perhaps a Muggleborn who understands a bit of science and genetics?

But the last time you went you went with Bill. I get it. Could they bring her here or would the shock to her system be too great?

What are they giving you for a prognosis? All I know is that Bill got attacked. I didn't want to bother you until you were ready to talk and I don't know Percy well enough to pry.

Wait, he's dating someone? Helga, it must be in the water. Remind me not to drink it.

You don't need to find me an assistant, although I'm more than touched that you would offer to do so. But I know that when you're determined, you will do what you put your mind to... so....

An E or better in Care of Magical Creatures would be a plus. Familiarity with science and/or genetics would also be helpful, but not necessary. Preferably someone well organized and good at puzzles, or finding patterns.

I would not ask them to bring her here in her state. If she were going to travel at all, I would have them take her to the reservation in Romania, many of my friends could take care of her there... but she needs to be in her own climate, with her own vegetation and habitat.

Bill was attacked by Fenrir Greyback, don't know why. It wasn't during the full moon, so he'll be fine, but has... cursed injuries, I guess. As if he needed anything else like that in his life.

He was dating Tonks. It kind of came out of the blue. One day they told us they were dating, which caught us all off guard, and then he got attacked, and the next day they were suddenly engaged.

Okay. I think that gives me a good place to start. How many hours a week would you need them? I guess that's another question I should ask before I really get into this.

Makes total sense. I was just trying to find a way for you to see her without the other stuff getting in the way. Does she have the best possible handlers working with her now?

Helga. Cursed injuries? How? Are you sure there isn't something I can do to help?

So how long were they together before they got engaged? And did they get engaged before or after he got hurt?

Not too many. I suppose it could be considered a part-time job, to make it sound more appealing. Or an internship. I will certainly pay them for their work.

The dragon program in China isn't that strong, especially not compared to the Romanian program. I'm going to owl my old roommate and see if he could make it out there.

I don't know how you could help, other than to talk me out of using a Hungarian Horntail to seek revenge. Because that's about how I'm feeling right now.

They got engaged after he got hurt. They've only been together a few weeks, I guess. They only just told the family they were dating immediately before Bill was attacked (that night, actually).
