Place/Country of Residence London, England. In particular, a fantastic townhouse in Grosvenor Square once owned by the Duke of such-and-such.
Appearance: Rodolphus is a tall, thin man, rugged in appearance. He often goes days without shaving, his jaw and chin speckled more with gray than it used to. He has dark hair and eyes and usually a stern look or sneer on his face. Besides his Dark Mark, Rodolphus also has a tattoo of the Lestrange family crest on his upper right arm and the Black family crest on his left shoulder blade. He is always well dressed, either in wizarding robes of the latest style or, if the situation warrants it, sleek and style business suits. His clothes always fit him well. He is a wealthy man and it shows.

He played beater on his Slytherin House Quidditch team and would have gone professional for the hell of it if he hadn’t been drawn over into the power and seduction of the Dark Lord. He is calm and calculating, almost lazy in the way he lets his wife walk all over him. But in truth, he is just waiting for the right moment to reign her in completely. He knows how to handle his wife, and he knows when to stop her and how far he can let her go. He is not a jealous man, couldn’t be when he’s aware of how his wife feels about the Dark Lord. He is intelligent, well-mannered, well-bred, and can be very persuasive and manipulative when needed. He chooses his words carefully. He is known for sarcasm amongst friends, and a dry, solemn demeanor when working. He knows what his purpose his and he takes care of it. Rodolphus is the type of man to which people, namely the Dark Lord, assign tasks. He takes care of things quickly and quietly and enjoys it.
Special Abilities: Rodolphus is extremely talented at wand work, most notably at hexes. He is skilled at curses and tortures, particularly the Cruciatus Curse. He has also been known to hold an Imperius Curse on unsuspecting Muggles, for his own enjoyment, for weeks at a time.
History: Rodolphus was born in Paris, France to the Lestranges, a powerful, well-to-do couple, respected both in the magical and Muggle worlds. His father, Edmund, had attended Hogwarts School in England, where he met and befriended Tom Riddle. When murmurings of Riddle’s desire to rise to power reached Edmund back in France, he moved his wife and two songs back to England, where they could attend Hogwarts as well and take up the task of following and doing Riddle’s will. Edmund became one of Lord Voldemort’s first Death Eaters, and it was only natural that his sons follow suit.
It wasn’t a surprise that Rodolphus was sorted into Slythern. He was accepted amongst his peers quickly, and drawn eventually to the power and prowess of Bellatrix Black, the eldest of the Black sisters. They dated throughout their time at Hogwarts and married shortly after she finished her seventh year, much to the pleasure of both families. A union between the two was natural and powerful and very lucrative in business regards.
Rodolphus was, of course, able to provide abundantly for his wife, though getting used to their life together was not easy for either of them. Both are attracted to power and wealth, and Bellatrix is a strong-willed, stubborn, ambitious woman. To most people, it would appear as though she had the upper hand in their marriage, but Rodolphus always has the final say. He enjoys the way other men look at his wife, how they envy him and, sometimes perhaps, pity him. It makes him feel powerful and helps him in his political strides.
Their family grew times three throughout the years, culminating in the son that Bellatrix had always wanted. Any man would be pleased with an heir, but Rodolphus has a soft spot in his heart for his two girls. He dotes on them, which has become more difficult now that they are away at the Slytherin Academy. He knows how difficult it must be for them, as Bellatrix’s daughters, so he always tries to make things comfortable. This is usually a trying and frustrating task.
Currently, Rodolphus serves the Dark Lord in the political ring with the Department of International Relations. He is also called upon often as a Chief Torturer, as he has a way of getting information out of even the most stubborn of people.
