Chase had lasted all of .. ten minutes .. after parting from Evan's company before she'd given in and dialed Penn's number. Getting his voicemail, she frowned .. but figured he was sleeping or at work. At least she got to hear his voice on the 'leave a message' part, though. So, she left the following voicemail:

Hey. [slight pause] It's me. Duh. Anyway. I'm assuming you're .. sleeping or at work .. Because if he wasn't, she didn't want to think of the other possibilities. Like, him being with someone else of the female variety. So, I survived a short evening in Hartwell's company. You'd be proud. Or .. well, maybe not. But there's no body count, and that has to count for something, right? She sighed on her end, not that he could see her doing it .. but. Anyway. Anyway. I was just thinking about you, I guess. No, she'd definitely been thinking about him. And .. I miss your smile, Royce. I mean, I miss everything, really, but .. your eyes and your smile. I miss the way your mouth feels against mine .. You drive me crazy. So, I thought you should know. And, because she had a feeling that if she made her voicemail any longer, she'd get cut off, Chase finished her call with a quick If you feel like calling or texting whenever you get this .. I can't say I'd mind. Hope you had a good day, and everything.
