Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Its started to happen; this morning there were four empty seats at the meeting. Four co-workers who have either gone to the Ministry or, well. I don't know where they could have gone.
Most people didn't even notice until they required a file but I did.  Her name was Carrah and she was a few years older than me ; on my first day she showed me where to hide the coffee.
Its been a week since she showed up to work and her desk has been cleared of all belongings. Its as though she never existed in the first place

How can they forget so easily ? How can they let themselves forget? It..it doesn't make any sense.

Distract me from the perils of Advanced Germanic Wards? What is the ideal combination of bacon, egg, roll and lorne sausage? Does it include tattie scones? Black pudding? Brown or red sauce?

I find myself unable to decide. Is there a formula for working out the perfect combination?

Not very nice? I'm perfectly pleasant in every manner, thankyouvery much.

Oh? You should try it again to make sure. Fortescue's might even have spam ice cream..

Private to Orsino

Very perceptive of you.

Spam and ice cream should never come in contact with each other. I think you've gone insane.

Private to Penny

Good thing, otherwise experiments might go very badly.

Insane?
I'm hurt. Deeply.

Actually, you're not the first person who has said that to me. Usually its followed by 'But you might also be a genius'. Which I am. Because they called the person who curdles, boiled and froze milk insane and yet we all eat ice cream, don't we?

Private to Orsino

Badly how?

Since you're so perceptive, I bet you can tell what I'm thinking..

Oh, well. Then...

YOU MIGHT ALSO BE A GENIUS.

Private to Penny

Explosions, injuries, houses razed to the ground, general chaos and destruction. You know.

That...you are a genius. Obviously.

And now I have it in writing.

I should frame it.

Private to Orsino

Ahh. Of course, the old general world ending version of 'things going badly'.

Actually you're close, but not quite what I was thinking.

Maybe you could make one from macaroni while I make my flag?

Private to Penny

Practice makes perfect?

And waste perfectly good macaroni? Not a chance. Macaroni belongs in a cheese sauce, not on a necklace or photo frame.

Fusilli on the other hand is an option. Its my least favourite shaped pasta.

Private to Orsino

Exactly.

That would work, too.

Private to Penny

I'm good at process of elimination.

Don't sell yourself short! You're also a champion for spam and excellent at eating fish and chips!

I do what I can. My talents are few and far between, but I do rest well knowing I work for the good name a spam. And consuming large amounts of fried food.

Few and far between? Thats not very Hufflepuff like. Don't make me turn into one and start listing your attributes and talents. I'm not blonde enough to be a Hufflepuff.

Fine.

You're also a very good hugger

Don't worry, there were some non-blond Hufflepuffs, here and there.

But pointy, I'm told.

Really? I must have missed that.

Pointy? What sort of abnormally tall person told you that?

Oh wait. It was me. Yes. Pointy but not in a 'too pointy to hug way'. Pointy in a stellar chip eating way.

It's a little known fact. Even the Ravenclaws forget I suppose.

Well that is certainly comforting. Here I thought I ought to start wrapping myself in that Muggle stuff...bubble tape paper wrap? If we were going to keep snogging hugging.

You can certainly wrap yourself in bubble wrap if it takes your fancy. Perhaps even add in a small bow?

However, if we are to keep snogging hugging, then I suppose the only thing thats in the way - pragmatically speaking - is distance.

Hrm.

That is something that is just so easy to remedy, though.

Why not let it be the pupils choice today?

So, thing is I spoke to my friends and.

Shut up Penny. Just stop thinking for once. He can probably hear your thinking from where he is

I guess you haven't seen my flat yet. You could come have a dog-riding lesson.

No! You're supposed to be encouraging my creativity, not stifling it with threats! Anymore talk like this, my hugging talents might just go right out the window.

I thought I was supposed to be teaching you about science? How about I stick with science and you can show me your creative side?

Oh no! Don't deprive me of your hugging talents! How about I come round and you practice?

But I'm still not riding the dog.
