3.
For obvious reasons, I've had to pull Teddy out of school and take some unexpected leave from St. Mungo's until I can arrange for some kind of childcare. He hated leaving his friends and didn't really understand what was going on. I only hope to be able to one day explain it adequately to him.

Private

Now is as bad a time as any to be a former Black. And someone married to a Muggleborn who has a large, extended family. Teddy's great-grandparents and aunts and uncles don't understand and never have. I wish Ted were still here. He'd know what to do. So would Nymphadora, I suppose. Oh, how I wish she were here to be a mother to Teddy. I didn't expect to ever have to do this twice. Nymphadora was more than enough for one lifetime.

Bring the kid here. He'll fit right in. Vicki will love having someone other than her sister to play with, and Mini will love that she isn't obligated to play dress up and can go off and stomp in puddles. And Louis just throws his perfectly good banana pieces on the floor, then screams WAAAANNNNT when I throw them out, so that's Louis for you.

Oh Bill, you're an absolute lifesaver, seriously. I can't afford to take much more time off, and at least you'll understand what it means when he changes his nose or turns his hair turquoise. Though, lately, it's been purple more often than not. And spiky. I haven no idea why.

Are you doing any sort of schoolwork with them currently?

Pffft, school work. You think I had school work when I was growing up?

You want me on some sort of curriculum, I can, but it's mostly going to involve a lot of self-learning, not a 'and here is your page of maths for the day', like I think the Muggles do it. Vicki's really into Astronomy, and dress-up so I'm teaching her the maths behind the stars and having her recreate some old wizarding stories - little bit of history lessons in there, and Mini just wants adventures, but she's still little enough yet.

Well, that's very different than what Teddy is used to at primary. I might be able to draw up some plans and get them to you if you're willing to make him sit down and do them. At least for now.

You didn't have school work growing up? Truly?

I will. Vicki'll probably think it's fun and sit with him, so that'll be good for her. Mini ... she's a free spirit. She's not going to sit, and I'm not about to make her.

There was a war, and I had siblings to raise. Most of what I learned, I learned Ron's first year, sitting with him in our dad's library and reading through every book at least three times - small library.

I think everyone after me had a lot more structure, once the war was over and my parents could calm down.

Ah well, I suppose that makes a great deal of sense. I had scores of governesses for me and my sisters growing up. It was always Bellatrix who scared them away so that we had to get another one.

I like my way better.
He'll be in goods hand, don't you worry. 12 O's, after all. I should know a thing or two. One would hope, anyway. I did squander it all to go bring back treasure. Wait, are you sure you trust me?

If I don't trust you, who can I trust?

All right. But when he comes home and wants to go to Rio and find rubies you can't hold it against me!

I will set him up with a treasure hunt, then.

That's unfortunate, and must be quite disruptive for many children.

Have no fear! I am starting Bill's School For Those Who Got Kicked Out of Muggle School And Thus Their Mummies and Daddies Gave Them No Choice But To Go To Shell Cottage!

We'll call it Bill's School For the Gifted, for short.

I saw, cheri. It sounds like an excellent solutions, though I do worry about the other children.
