039; 12 February 1980.
[Warded Private]

I am utterly exhausted of female hysterics.

It is not enough for Lucia to pull me away, but she must find Healer Edgelow's behaviour unsatisfactory? Whatever in Merlin's name that means. I have spoke with him, but the man has seen her through any number of pregnancies, and several that were dangerous, with no harm coming to her, and he spoke with me thoroughly following the incident, and I have no intention of changing.

Jugson is another matter entirely. I am rarely one to say that a woman should not be well read and should not be quite capable - indeed I encourage such in my own daughters, and prefer it in a woman of my choosing, but I wonder that they are being allowed to fight. I wonder if what we are requesting is not simply too demanding, and for all that I told Persephone that she could learn to fight easily as well as any man, without damaging her appearance of 'lady-like' behaviour, in the end it was not her fighting that damaged that, but her own mental instability.

It is no wonder that the Dark Lord is displeased. I have failed him, because I did not see how dreadfully unstable she was. Perhaps she should never have been allowed to join - particularly not to the level that she was given - but that I cannot take blame for. However, I can certainly take blame that I did not see it, and did not remove her from the ranks before she damaged public perception. At this rate, Death Eaters will be seen as unstable and any of those who would support the tenants of Purism that we are fighting for, will be disinclined to be seen with us because of that. I believe we must be more careful about who is given the mark, and remind those who have taken it, that this is devotion to an ideal, to the Dark Lord himself, not a way for them to rid themselves of personal demons -- or embrace them.

And Marissa Avery. I am only relieved Lucia has at least some sense more. Stabbing her own husband? If I had been Xavier, she would have received enough pain from my wand to make her think twice about any such behaviour.

And now this business with Andromeda Tonks showing up at the Ladies League.

Patience, Patrice, you must learn some patience.

[Warded to Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, and Rabastan Lestrange]
Let us address the matter of Persephone Jugson. Obviously she will be no longer joining us on Saturdays. As there are only three of you, short of the Dark Lord assigning me another Death Eater, one of you will be paired with me for duelling practices for the foreseeable future.

If any of you have any inclination towards insane behaviour befitting neither a member of society or a chosen soldier in the Dark Lord's army I would like to hear about that at this time. Otherwise, I expect to see you for an extra hour on Saturday and we will move forward. Rest assured that if I sense any inclination towards such behaviour, you will be removed from any assignment of any worth, and if deemed necessary you will be removed from the Dark Lord's army. I think I need not say that you will not find that process pleasant.

Questions?

[Warded to Isidore Mulciber]
I believe you know a bit of Legilimency?

[Warded to the Inner Circle]
Lest we get to sidetracked to current events, I believe we need to turn our minds back to the vampire project. I suggest we determine how we wish this to move forward and then give to two of our Outer Circle to present to the Vampires. Whomever is chosen should be well aware that this will be a test of their skills and they will be punished accordingly if they fail.

[Warded to Inner Circle & Death Eaters employed at the Ministry of Magic]

A man and a woman, overheard as Doc and Char - I am guessing these are nicknames. The woman had brown hair, about five foot, the man taller, also brown hair although darker. It appears as if the man were dressed nicely as though he were coming from work.

Does anyone have any idea of the identities of either of these individuals?

[Warded to Lucia]
Unless you have an objection I am going to invite Laelia to come and stay with us for the next few months. She will be available to assist with Prisca and Tullia, and my Mother seems to think that the project would be good for Laelia. Doubtless she is correct in this matter.

Thoughts?

When you put it that way, you make it sound almost fun.

Then I think we are agreed there. I suggest that we include the rest of the Dark Lord's Inner Circle, and perhaps consult him as well.

It depends upon how old - If she is old enough to have any understanding, it could work against us ultimately. If they were babies, I would quite agree. But I think none of them are babies. I dislike the idea of spilling so much magical blood, but I do not know that we have many choices. Bones has, in effect, issued an ultimatum.

Yes, that sounds wise. It is a shame to have to spill so much pure blood but blood traitors cannot be tolerated, especially when they flout their disgrace so cavalierly. He will understand that.

A shame but sacrifices must be made to the Cause. Edgar and Calypso will have no one to blame for their children's deaths but themselves. had they thought of their children first as any good mother and father ought to, there would be no need for this.
