046; 9 March 1980.
[Warded to the Inner Circle]

A few days ago I set Lucius on the task of completing some of the work that he and Augustus have begun. He reported back to me today, and during tonight's training session brought forward all of the information that he has been able to gather. There is enough that I believe we could begin taking further actions.

We have the address of Emily Prewett's parents. They live in a semi-detatched home, so it would need to be done with care, but I am wondering if they might not have further information regarding their daughter that they could give to us.

If we are in agreement, I believe we should move through the rest of these aurors as swiftly as possible. They have too long continued to live with the notion that their actions and defiance against the Dark Lord go unnoticed.

[Warded Private]
Tristan Rosier.

Laelia Rosier.

It has not a half-bad sound to it. I should prefer it if he were one of the Dark Lord's devoted servants, but there is perhaps yet time for that. And even without it, the name and the blood alone speak highly of him. I should speak with Julian.

Prisca has determined that she needs a second pony because she would like to have 'baby ponies'. Outside of being a bit amused that she has suddenly developed a desire to become a breeder of fine ponies, I'm not quite certain what to make of this. Generally I like to indulge my daughter's intellectual curiosities when appropriate to do so, and there is far worse to be interested in than a study of fine animals. Which, I believe in the course of this paragraph I have determined the next course of action. I do not suppose that anyone knows of any horse shows where she could introduced to the concept in a more mature context than ponies?

A second pony already? She was very attentive and careful, in our lessons, and so enthusiastic that I am not overly surprised. There are a few horse shows upcoming, I could forward you the information for each one by owl, if you would like, sir.

I admit I am not so much surprised by her comments as I am a bit bemused. The information about the horse shows would be quite a good thing, Mr Zeller. If you could owl them I would be much appreciative. I possibly have a title or two in my library, but if you have any suggestions for a title that covers good breeding in horses that might be suitable for a younger reader, I would certainly be interested.

There aren't many books about horse breeding suitable for children, but I would recommend "Blessed Are the Brood Mares" and "Blessed Are the Foals" first. "Breeding Horses" by Davies-Morel would also be interesting, though it might be too technical for your daughter; enough reproductive physiology of the mare and stallion is included to clarify the management techniques which are explained later in the book, but unnecessary details are avoided.

I will owl you information about various breeds to consider, along with information regarding upcoming horse shows.

I shall look into both and see which might be most suitable for her at this point in time as well as looking forward to your owl, Mr Zeller. Thank you.

She certainly is taking to the pony. She has quite a knack for riding, I must say. She loves it so much, in fact, that she has taken to saying good morning and goodnight to it each day.

[Private to Patrice]
Perhaps if we are considering indulging her interest, it may be worth purchasing horses rather than ponies? She adores the pony beyond all else at the moment, of course, but if this interest continues as she grows older, horses are more practical, don't you think?

I am rather partial to Friesian Horses, or perhaps quarter horses. Though I never really rode, I have been told they are the most impressive in terms of performance, and pretty of course, which is important too. Or perhaps Mr. Zeller could make a recommendation regarding breed and acceptable suppliers?

It is always a delight to see a birthday present so enjoyed. I am glad as well to see that she has taken full responsibility for it. I believe Mr Zeller's lessons have been rather useful in that regard.

[Lucia]
I admit I had the same thought. I should like to ensure it is more than a passing interest however. A pony, while a responsibility, is less so one than a full horse and I should dislike the idea of buying an animal so expensive and then to see it neglected because this has been a passing fancy.

Perhaps we should simply encourage the interest and in the autumn when Tullia leaves for Hogwarts, if she is still interested, perhaps we could look into a Friesian or another breed if Mr Zeller has a preferred recommendation?

And how are you feeling this morning, ma cherie? All healthy and well?

Shall I send Mr. Zeller a token of our appreciation? A gift basket, perhaps. Or, if it would please you, a dinner invitation? Or is he not the sort of business acquaintance we should be extending quite that much... warmth towards? He seems like a perfectly respectable man.

That is likely wise, though, about waiting at least until fall. However, by then our son will have been born as well, and Prisca may find herself distracted by her new brother. We must wait and see, I suppose.

Yes, very well. Everything is going just as it should be, Patrice, so I hope you aren't worrying. Oh, and I had a dream last night of you and I and the girls and our son, a perfect, happy family. He was beautiful, Patrice. In my dream, I mean. And we were so very happy. It was a wonderful picture of the future.

Oh, listen to me rambling. I am healthy and happy, beau, that's all I mean to say.

Perhaps something small, a gift basket is a good idea, I believe? He is not society, but he is a respectable man and has a manner with Prisca that I have found most pleasing and I should like to have him continue to work with our animals should we decide to get larger horses.

I am pleased, Lucia. That is how it should be right now. I believe you look more radiant these days as well and each day that passes is one day nearer the birth of our Theodore. Where are you now?

I will choose something appropriate.

Thank you, Patrice. I am glad you think so.

I just returned home from visiting Portia, and the girls are with the tutors now. Why do you ask?

And if they don't have any more information, well. I daresay that a point can be made one way or another.

Who next, then? Scrimgeour, perhaps?

They are among those we have not yet targeted and I should think that would be as good a selection as any. We could perhaps base further targets on any information required from these targets?

If we are to question the Prewetts, we will need a location to do so. I would suggest one not connected to any of us. Perhaps one of the lower ranked Outer Circle have a basement? If they are not useful then we can do whatever will need to be done to make them disappear.
