[Warded to First Impressions Committee]

I have done some work on beginning stages of content for our curriculum. It is my believe that the stages would be best split, similarly to how they are at Hogwarts.

Years 1 & 2 Ages 5-7
Years 3 - 6 Ages 7-11

During years 1 & 2 the following compulsory studies would be attended by every student of the school.

Compulsory Studies: Writing & Reading, Numbers & Figures, Geography, History of Magical Peoples, Art (Practical), Music (Practical), Citizenship, and Physical Education

During Years 3 - 6 the compulsory studies mentioned above would taught with some additional changes, and optional course studies that would be included.

Compulsory Studies: Writing & Reading, Numbers & Figures, Geography, History of Magical Peoples, Art (Practical), Music (Practical), Citizenship, and Physical Education

In addition to the compulsory studies Modern Foreign Languages (French, Italian, German come to mind as possibilities), Ancient Languages (Latin, Gaelic, Greek), Origins of Magic (Cultural studies for England, and as they grow older, other countries as well), and Personal, Social, and Health Studies.

In both art and music, for Years 3 - 6, there would be a practical element, but an added appreciation element. At all levels, instruction in writing & reading would be primarily in English, but would also be available in Welsh for our witches and wizards with Welsh backgrounds who wish their children to learn such.

The specific details of what would be taught at each individual level will come later, and obviously there is no practical magic instruction as that begins at Hogwarts at the age of eleven. And some children - particularly in years 1 & 2 - may not have even shown signs of magic just yet.

I believe we are ready for input at this time, and so thoughts?

Lucius has been gathering information on an upcoming Wizengamot discussion, and I believe he has enough that it is possible to share it at this time.

I think that this is absolutely excellent, Patrice. Honestly, I cannot think of any particular suggestions, but I do have a few prospective teachers in line who would be suitable for some of the upper-level electives (two particularly wonderful candidates for Modern Foreign Languages, specifically French and German).

I will being seeking out local interest immediately, now that we have a more set outline for curriculum.

That is very good news regarding the teachers. I want the school to have some of the best that can be acquired. Any magical child ought to have access to the best education possible.

Thank you for your enthusiasm.

Concisely, that a petition has been submitted to the Wizengamot and appears to be moving forward which wishes to 'override the Minister's decision' regarding the Auror's rights to practice the Unforgivable Curses. At present it is divided into three partial branches one pertaining to each unforgivable, to be separately decided upon. Though there have been no cases as of yet of Aurors exercising this right, they are still practicing them in a sanctioned manner.

The petition was proposed by Douglas Cornfoot's office at the end of February, but has only gained momentum since acquiring the sponsorship of Mrs. Griselda Marchbanks. Marchbank recently seems to have changed her hours, working well beyond normal hours, I believe on the petition if clerk duties are any indication. She works alone in her office.

There shall be a preliminary internal debate on the topic on 21 March head by Elder Marchbanks.

As Lucius has mentioned above - and I believe the question is what, if anything, we wish to do about this.

The Unforgivables have recently seen to a death of one of our own and if they were not allowed to use them, that would not happen in the same way. Of course Scrimgeour and Robards managed to kill Black without any unforgivable so it would not do away with the possibility entirely.

I agree with Beatrice here. That seems very comprehensive, and there isn't anything I would change.

Beatrice is absolutely wonderful, and so far all of the information on possible candidates she's compiled and interviewed is very thorough. Of course, the final decision will have to go before the Board of Governors, which should be finalized over the next week or so. The Board, that is, not the entire staff of the school.

And once we have settled on a Headmaster, preferably someone with much teaching and administrative experience, they may be of assistance in fine tuning a bit as well. Obviously the choice of Headmaster is incredibly important and not to be rushed, though I'll admit to a bit of concern over finding just the right person.

It seems like there is still so much to do if we wish the school to open in September.

This is thorough and, I must say, exciting. I truly look forward to seeing this school become a reality and each step is taking us closer. Regarding teachers, I could help with hiring ads in various medias, if we want to take that route.

Thank you Mrs Vaisey, I believe we will want to take that route within a month or so. Perhaps not immediately but certainly within a month.
