I confess I miss this study area when we are at Nott Manor during the summer. The Woodlands seem to almost breathe words onto my parchment without struggle. Or perhaps it is merely that I inked most of my first book here in this study that I have a preference for it. Such preferences are emotional and not rational, but I suppose such is likely.

As you will have seen from Mr Mulciber's journal, I have been assigned as your mentor. It is the goal of the Inner Circle to see each and every one of you excel so that you are best able to serve the Dark Lord. While it is not likely that each Outer Circle member will gain the honour of access to his Inner Circle, it is my goal that all of you should have the opportunity to prepare for such an honour should you so desire it.

Thus we will begin regular training sessions both individually, as well as with each other. Unless you can give me a very excellent reason why you are not available on Saturday afternoon, you may, beginning the first Saturday in November, block out the period from 3 - 6pm. This will be our group training session and these will take place at the Woodlands. Promptness is expected.


Now, your first assignment. What do you feel are the strengths, both magical and personal that you bring to the Dark Lord's army. Where do you excel? Conversely, where are you weak? What areas personally and magically do you feel that you could improve? I will make my own assessment on Saturday, but I want to know what your assessment of yourself is.

Finally, what is your first and second choice evening for individual training. I will accommodate these as best as I am able, but I make no promises in that regard.
