CHARACTER NAME: Pansy Parkinson
AGE/BIRTHDAY: 23 / May 20th 1980
BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
OCCUPATION: Owner of Thelema, Speakeasy beneath The Leaky Cauldron (only open on weekends). Works as a barmaid in The Leaky Cauldron during the week.
RESIDENCE: Bristol.
MARITAL STATUS: Married to Neville Longbottom.
FAMILY MEMBERS: Parents - Violet Parkinson (deceased) and Michael Parkinson. Older brother: Jack (in Azkaban).
OTHER: The Parkinsons are part of the Sacred 28, so Pansy is likely related to lots of other purebloods. She tries not to think about it.
PETS:
A Pomeranion called Boots, and a cat called Mewcius Meowlfoy. She thinks she's funny.
APPEARANCE:

Since leaving Hogwarts, the so-called pug-faced Pansy has grown out of her chubby cheeks and has discovered make-up and dressing for her figure. Slim, tall and dark-haired, Pansy is every inch the image of her mother and makes sure she catches as many eyes as she can when she walks into a room. Especially if those eyes belong to married men - causing drama is her favourite game, especially as she has no genuine interest in any man these days. It's all for show and her clothes are a costume. She'd much prefer to be at home in her oversized Quidditch jersey and her Kneazle slippers, but how boring would that be?
Her skin is pale, and her dark eye makeup and black hair only serve to emphasise this. Her perfume is a mixture of violets and oak-tree bark, and her nail polish is always chipped. She has a terrible nail-biting habit when she's nervous or bored.
PATRONUS: Cannot cast.
BOGGART/WORST FEAR: Aside from the obvious death of loved ones, Pansy's next greatest fear would be a small windowless prison cell. She'd rather death.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: She's good at offensive magic and potions. She can also throw a punch.
EDUCATION: Slytherin '98. Prefect. Inquisitorial squad.
LIKES: Drinking, crossword puzzles, pushing buttons, her pets, snowball fights, dirty limerics, unicorns, procrastinating.
DISLIKES: Gryffindors, talking about the war, self-righteousness, early mornings, pineapple on pizza.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: This would really depend on the person, but overall, Pansy comes across as harsh and uncaring. A free spirit who pushes away responsibilities whenever she can and then drinks a shot to celebrate. She'll completely cut you down with one short sentence and then carry on like nothing ever happened. She's not very likeable, unless you happen to be an arsehole too.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:

Guarded: It's a cliche, but part of why Pansy acts the way she does is to protect herself. She can't stand getting close to new people, or even old people. She has a tough time talking to long-term friends about anything remotely emotional and backs away from it whenever she can.

Mean: Self-explanatory. Pansy likes to push buttons and tease people, which can become just plain cruel at times.

Cunning: She is also a true Slytherin - cunning and calculated. She will do her research and play the long-game when she wants to. For maximum damage.

Loyal: Pansy doesn't give a fuck about her parents or her family name or any of that shit. Her friends are her family, and she would do anything for them. No really, she looks forward to it. She may give them a hard time, and tease them like anyone else, but she's got their backs. People often mistake her guarded nature as uncaring, but it's simply not true.

Self-destructive: She does stupid things for the sake of it. Thanks to the war, there's a lot of self-esteem and fear festering under the surface and instead of dealing with it, Pansy would prefer to gloss over it with some nice, distracting drama. Or copious amounts of rum. Or both. She is hedonistic to the max.

Thick-skinned: Pansy can take a lot of shit before she breaks, which is probably what makes her such a good barmaid. She's not an expert at it yet - and she definitely has her off-days - but she's getting there and is pretty impressive in the meantime.

HISTORY:

Childhood: Pansy's childhood wasn't the easiest. Alcoholic, emotionally-abusive, neglectful parents and a brutish brother who found it funny to hide his little sister's things. All silly sibling stuff, of course, but it still affected Pansy's confidence and temperament. As such she spent most of her time playing outdoors, hanging out with the local muggle kids and getting into trouble with them. Trespassing, shoplifting sweets, daring each other to jump into rivers or touch electric fences. The usual. She thought they were all idiots of course, and they fought regularly but this was her little tribe, and the best family she had at that age. She grew up fast, and she grew up mean. She always answered back, and had no respect for anyone, including herself.

Hogwarts: Pansy didn't want to go to Hogwarts and she hated school. Being hundreds of miles away from her friends, stuck in a cold oppressive castle, and having to do homework...Pansy felt alone and miserable. She wasn't popular or fun here, nobody cared about her or even knew who she was. She would get 'accidentally' barged in the corridors, nobody would speak to her much at dinner, and nobody particularly cared where she sat in class. Eventually, she snapped and shouted very obscene things at a Ravenclaw who had stepped on her foot in Charms. She received a happy response from her fellow Slytherins, just as her friends had enjoyed her mean-streak back home. From then on, Pansy used her mean-spirited nature to assert her dominance over her fellow students and soon gained a circle of friends. From them, she learned about blood-purity and how she was better than these other girls because she was part of something called the Sacred 28. Yet, despite these very plain facts, there were still those who waltzed around like they owned the place. She did pretty well academically but was still overlooked because she wasn't a perfect little Gryffindor golden child. The sooner Potter and his friends pissed off, the better.

War: The war came, and Potter and his friends DID piss off. Huzzah! The school was taken over by Snape and the Carrows, and for a long time, Pansy felt on top of the world. She was finally getting recognition in class, and she was doted on by her teachers. However, there was always a downside to every happiness. Her best friends suffered that year, namely those with Voldemort-sympathetic parents. It was a side to the war that many people didn't see, or didn't want to see. Children were made to suffer for their parents' choices and were often left fearing for their family's wellbeing, powerless to help whilst being painted as villains. Pansy wasn't loyal to many people, but her friends were different and she was determined to help them. She offered to trade Potter to Voldemort for the assured safety of everyone else, but such an act was not well received. Still, events unfolded and the war finally ended with most of her friends intact. Whilst Pansy is still very raw about Crabbe's death, and will literally punch anyone who mentions it, she feels like the whole thing could have turned out a lot, a lot worse and she's silently thankful towards those who prevented it.

Work: Surprising perhaps, but Pansy returned to Hogwarts to finish her NEWTS. They served as a good distraction whilst the world began to rebuild itself, and when the time came, Pansy completed school with decent grades. But what now? Whilst contemplating this at the pub, she was offered a job pulling pints on the weekends. Which soon became every night. Pansy had - and still has - a love/hate relationship with her job at The Leaky Cauldron. On the one hand, it's pretty easy and she gets to talk shit with people all day and sneak free drinks. On the other hand, she has to deal with the occasional dickhead customer or worse - her friends' parents. There's nothing more nauseating than a failed, jaded Death Eater. Good tips, though.

Marriage: Then she was forced to marry that...moron. At first, it seemed like a ridiculous joke. The curse and the new law was one thing...but this? Him? It didn't seem real. But it was and as much as she fought against it, in the end, it happened. She and Neville are married in name only, and she avoids him as much as possible. [LEFT VAGUE FOR NEVILLE PLAYER]

FIRST PERSON SAMPLE:

To the absolute gentleman who left his false fucking teeth on the bar last night, cheers! I gave them to Tom, he loves them. His new smile could break hearts - probably not in a good way, but hey, we'll take whatever we can get here at The Leaky Cauldron.

On that note, Happy Hour is from 4-7 tonight. Yes - three hours, because all good things come in threes. Like Tom's natural teeth. Or your mother.

See you later.

Hi there. Don’t apologise; out of the blue is exciting and, yes, the game is still active!

This sounds interesting, I’m definitely intrigued. And always love more Slytherins! IJ can be unreliable; do you have Discord (I’m @kittenfeathers#3673)? Or if you would prefer to email, mine is fatalflower@hotmail.com

:)
