	I would very much like to tell her personally, but there is a formality and a certain etiquette that needs to be followed I suppose. My schedule is incredibly tight this week, but I think the sooner the better. Of course, they will. Although once they find out why, I'm sure their attitudes will change. Theia, we should just elope. We'll take them out then. It would be much easier to do that than have to worry about getting our place ready. Merlin knows my mother would jump at the opportunity to come over just to make comments about how and where we live.

It does. What do you think? We could do this, baby. It would be on our terms. Forget all about societal expectations. We could get married right away and it would be our little secret.

My mother would be the same, you know. Ready to tell me how if I just gave up my ‘ridiculous notion of running my brother’s bar’ I could focus on learning how to be a wife.

We could. They won’t be happy, but we could let them throw a party a suitable period later to fulfil some of their wishes to show off with a large event. It’s no so crazy, and I would like to become your wife sooner rather than later.

	They will have even more in common when they both want to murder us for eloping, but I find myself unable to care what my mother thinks. 	It will be something for them to bond over while drinking tea. My mother wouldn't be surprised I did this and I assure you she will blame me for influencing you. Within the month is more than fair. My immediate thought was Narcissa, but she may not want to be complicit in our rebellious wedding plans. True, but I really need to teach you the joys of being social sometimes.

I will keep that in mind, but I’m sure you will enjoy whatever I choose.

I’ll ask Alecto when I see her for her birthday drinks or lunch, and I’m sure it won’t be hard to arrange to ask Corban. This is going surprisingly smoothly and with fewer family headaches than I imagine the traditional route would cause.

I have no doubt that I will. You'll look beautiful in whatever you choose.

I'll ask Corban when I ask Rabastan. It is and that's because we're doing this the way we want to. Figuring out how to tell our mothers was difficult enough, imagine planning an actual wedding complete with every other socialite party required. This way, you and I will be married by the end of the month.

You don’t want to become the new Lucius, an accessory to your brilliant wife’s parties?

If I don’t make you tear up just a little bit at how stunning I look, then I will have failed.

I’m sure our mothers will insist on an engagement party anyway, so be prepared for that and for them to fight over the details while we are planning our elopement. It’s possible they may even take so long we are married before they can have an engagement party.

I can almost guarantee we will be married before the engagement party. It may be in our best interest not to tell them until after. Let them have that at least. Think of how much fun it will be at the party having a secret that only you and I know about.

	That imagery is disturbing. I don’t think blond is your colour. Just us and our select guests as everyone tries to offer us ‘advice’ about how to get married. No, it definitely is not.

In a year's time? Do you think by then they will be asking us about when we will start producing little pureblood children? Maybe before the year is done. If for nothing more than to soothe any hurt feelings, mend broken traditions and stroke egos. You and I have attended enough formal events to know that we are breaking a lot of societal rules. Not that I give a damn.
