I'm a huge comic book geek. Back in my heyday of comic reading, I was keeping up with at least 20-30 titles at any certain time (plus I was dating a guy who owned a comic book store = free access to anything I wanted to read). Time and money have dwindled those numbers down considerably, but one of my all time favorite comics was Watchmen. When I heard they were making a movie for it I promptly had a freakout, then began to pray that they don't screw it up. Well, the first set pictures have been released and so far it's looking pretty damn awesome. OMG, I can't wait to see this.

This was started before I did the Sylar piece. I drew it, scanned it, then I got to busy with other things so it sat half-finished on my hard drive gathering dust for a while. I'm not a 100% sure about this one, it started out as Kensei but ended up becoming Adam. I just might have to do that Kensei piece soon before I'm satisfied.

As some of you already know I'm a photographer IRL. Architectural and interior photography is my bread and butter, but seeing as how the new home market has been all shy and reclusive the last month or so, I set about to drum up some new business by branching out a bit. So while setting up a portfolio I come to realize, dammit, all I have is pictures of model homes. So I'll bulk it up with still lifes and such.
If you do any sort of product/still life photography, a light tent is a pretty nifty item to own. It softens shadows and diffuses light all the way around the subject. But I'm a poor bastard, unwilling to drop that kind of money on something right before Christmas. So I set about making my own.
So 1 cardboard box, a flat bedsheet, some white electrical tape, and a bunch of crap found in the closets and kitchen, I have the fruits of my labor. All for about 10 bucks.

Good God, I must stop eating today. I'm miserably full, yet can't seem to stop myself from raiding the leftovers every few hours. I hope everybody enjoyed their foodz.
I'll be spending Black Friday holed up in the house, doing my shopping on the internet. And while I should be looking for gifts for other people, so far all I've managed is to find things that I want, such as Amazon selling the Ultimate Vacation Collection for $20.99. It will be mine.
BTW, Moonlight is complete cheesy nonsense, but I think I'm getting hooked.
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. *goes back to writing Christmas cards and contemplating that lonely looking peach cobbler in the fridge*

Why oh why did I start reading a novel-length Alias fic, KNOWING it was a WIP and most likely has been abandoned, and then get depressed that it is unfinished? Maybe it's because I'm a tool.
Anyway, I'm working fast and furious to get my SS/HG exchange piece finished. Lord help me, PLEASE let me at least get started on the coloring today.

So the writer's strike is a for sure, which means shows like the Colbert Report and the Daily Show won't be seeing any new episodes until who knows, and new series yet to be seen like Heroes: Origins have been dropped. That completely sucks. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
I guess everybody is off writing for NANOWRIMO. I can hear crickets chirping when I check my flist.

I hope everyone has a fun Halloween tonight. Me, I'll be holed up here by myself, praying that I get enough trick or treaters so as to get rid of all this candy I bought. I need to get it out of the house soon, seeing as how I have already raided the bag of Snickers and POTC gummi skulls several times this week.

I had a day off yesterday which I spent being a complete and utter slug, basically moving from the chair at the computer to the sofa and back again repeatedly. The bad thing was is I wanted to work on projects, but couldn't keep my attention span up more than a half hour at a time, so the computer room is littered with half finished knitting, needlepoint projects, art, and PIF gifts.
Hopefully today will be more productive.
Oh, and I also posted some art over at IJ for daily_deviant, It's Lucius/Hermione/Narcissa and you can see it here(NWS).

Goddamn computers and their stupid fucking faulty motherboards. My computer has decided shuffle off its mortal coil just in time when many deadlines are beginning to loom on the horizon. When it's not taking over an hour to get past startup, it's freezing up when attempting to open files. All the photoshop work I've done to my snarry_games art is trapped inside this piece of shit. I've only been able to retrieve some photos I was working on for my business and a commission I haven't posted yet before it decided it has had enough of me. I had to bite the bullet and buy a new computer yesterday and now I must redownload ALL my programs. This is not going to be a fun night. Apologies for not replying to all my comments or emails, I'm getting to them I swear, but computers seem to hate me right now.

My art for the snarry_games is kicking my ass but good. It's been two weeks and I'm still not finished. Why is it taking so long to get it done? D:
Who on my flist is going to Portus? I'm trying to work out a way to go to both Portus and Terminus next year, but since I'm planning on attending Terminus for the entire con I might have to just plan on flying out to Portus just to stay for a couple of days. I don't want to miss it, since there will be quite a few people attending that one that I would love to meet, and I would love to hang out with you guys, even if its only for a couple of days.
It's me and my boyfriend's 5 year anniversary coming up in October, so as a gift for ourselves we splurged on a 42" plasma and hd directv package. Just in time for the fall tv season. So in between all the damn ESPN and college football that my boyfriend has it tuned to 24/7, I at least get to watch House , Heroes, and Prison Break in hi def. :D Oh and speaking of that....
