GREATEST FEAR: Never fulfilling his true purpose and losing his world to undesirables. ROYAL AMBITION: While royal ambition is important and Barty would solely committ to supporting Bellatrix Lestrange to take the throne, he is more concerned with the rise of purist society, looking for a leader to take them into the charge. HISTORY TOP 5 DEFINING MOMENTS: 12 O.W.L.S It is typically unheard of from a Hogwarts student, but Barty has a highly intellectual mind, apt for learning and curious for information. Not very much a social being, he found solace in the library buried in texts and busy with his studies. One search would always lead him to the next, keeping him engaged and hungry to know more. It gave him a sense of control over possessing and owning that much knowledge, keeping him well above the rest. Never the type to engage in sport nor wanted for club participation, he maintained a quiet profile and kept close to his circle of friends. Hogwarts Apprenticeship. With 12 O.W.L.S under his belt, it was no wonder that the headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry offered Barty an apprenticeship position within the school. It only seemed fitting to do so, wanting to utilize and take advantage of his high intellect, to mold him into one day becoming a fine educator. However, to one day become a teacher was not what Barty longed for. His days at Hogwarts were now in his past and he had bigger plans for himself. With such a high level of knowledge, he was sure he could use it to further himself and his beliefs by other means. So, respectfully he declined their offer and went on to work for the Ministry of Magic where his thirst for wisdom could be perfectly coupled with ability to use his hands. Department of Mysteries. Not long after Barty turned down the offer at Hogwarts, he took his high intellect to where he always saw himself building a career -- The Ministry of Magic. There he enrolled into the top secret world of the Department of Mysteries where he quickly became one of the few Unspeakables that they as well as their work stayed well hidden within the division. It seemed unsurprising that Barty would find such a job so appealing, catering to his intellectual whims and need for further learning about the world around him and those who resided within it. He is able to leave his work at the Ministry and fake his way through the crowds about who he is and what he does. But everything he studies, experiements and learns, he keeps a duplicate copy of. Though why he does this is anyone's guess... Perhaps he worries he'll lose the originals or maybe he has other intentions. Nothing he ever does is quite clear. Unintentional Pregnancy. As intereted in his studies that he was, Barty also took an interest in the opposet sex. He has a rather charismatic charm that women seem to find rather attractive in him. Of course he used this to his advantage, able to smile and talk his way into dates relationships or purely something physical. Not without a strong handsome face, he could tell that women took an interest in him as well. And it didn't take long for Barty to find someone at work that wanted what he wanted. Evaelyn Yaxley immeidately caught his eye and while he showed her the respect she deserved, their physical attraction for each other quickly led them to his bed. They carried on a hot and heavy physical romance and when they were exhausted, they came back for more, looking to one another for the satisfaction that only the other seemed to be able to provide. However, when preoccupied, mistakes can often be made and it was an accidental pregnancy that caught Barty and Evaelyn complete off guard. As soon as she informed him that she was expecting his child, he did as any dutiful pureblood man would and proposed marriage, not wanting to waste the pureblood life that they had created together. Misscarriage(s). After Barty and Eva made for a quick yet proper exchange of vows, they soon settled down and prepared to start a family together -- a pure, noble family. While they did know each other, they did not know each other well and this created small difficulties to occur within their marriage. Both determined, they worked through their differences and made the best of establishing a functional marriage. Over time they slowly learned more about each other, but not without their fair share of arguments to guide them. Gradually their estate was molding into a home and while things were not perfect, they were tolerable and they at least share a similar interest in being honest and true to their union and each other. All seemed well enough until they were struck with unfortunate ill fortune - Eva had lost Barty's future heir. The very reason why they married was suddenly taken from them without reason or explanation as to why. Of course this bothered Barty, not knowing. His frustration turned to anger and resentment toward his wife and their arguments came more frequent, verbally vicious and violent, accusatory and blameworthy. It was becoming increasingly difficult to control his temper, taking it out on Eva. Such battles became commonplace in their estate as they tried for children again, but were always met with damaging results, reliving their defeat over and over as Eva continued to miscarry. Currently without an hier, their marriage is in a bizarre state, not one that others would normally consider healthy; apart yet close. HAPPIEST MEMORY: As simple as it may seem, achieving 12 OWLS is by far his happiest memory. It was a gateway for him to conquer much more and take off, validating him and his hard work. WORST MEMORY: Most recently his mother fell ill to a blood born virus that is slowly eating away at her. It nearly broke him to hear the news that there was nothing to be done and that in due time she would indeed subcumb to its effects. While his mother has come to accept her fate, Barty refuses to, adding weight to his mental stability. BIGGEST SECRET: A miscarriage was a terrible experience to have to endure and Bary and his wife endured many of them. He began to notice the way Eva seemed to remedy her pain after each one -- dabbling in certain recreational potions. She would indulge in these little moments and he would let her to it, not bothering to comfort the woman who couldn't bring him a pureblood heir. One particular little moment of hers put an end to her use, when he was contacted by Eva through journal to come get her after a night of heavy muggle doping. Angered by her actions, he set out to retrieve Eva before anyone in purist society could find out. On their way, they were attached and threatened by a dirty muggle with a knife attempting to rob them. Wasting no time, both he and his wife drew their wands, but she had won the battle, obtaining the knife first. His eyes were not lying to him, he watched his wife take the mudblood down and start to stab him with his own knife, one jab after another in rapid succession. Barty did nothing to stop her and instead allowed her to unleash her rage upon him. It was perfect and he rather liked it. When she was finished, he ordered her to go home and clean up the blood that coated clothing and hands while he took care of disposing the body. Today that body resides in one of their purist friend's gardens, buried deep within the soil. What happened has only remained between them, no one else knows about the incident except for husband and wife. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?: Currently Barty works at the Ministry of Magic, an Unspeakable for the Department of Mysteries where he spends most of his time not only researching anything and everything, but using those findings for future personal gains as well. Married to Evaelyn Yaxley, they are alone in a large estate, no children between them and have accepted that perhaps they may never will. DIFFERENCE FROM CANON: The major differences are that he has not been kissed, never been to Azkaban, is now married and working for the Department of Mysteries. Aside from all of that, he is near true to canon. WRITING SAMPLES FIRST PERSON: I haven't been able to sleep a full night for nearly a week now. Every night I wake up from the same dream, only with subtle differences and the dream never finishes. Right before I can get an answer, I suddenly awaken and within the same hour in the morning. After that, I am unable to sleep again, settling on a cup of tea and my own thoughts. Eva How are you feeling? I know we've gone through this before, but that doesn't mean it gets any easier. My patience for this keeps getting thinner, so you understand my anger. You might've noticed that I haven't been sleeping again. This always happens after a... loss. It's been nearly a week of the same dream, waking me up from a deep sleep. PLOT IDEAS: Ideally a Riddle would be nice, someone for Barty to fall behind and become loyal to in more of a movement type. Barty is not above murder, but he needs to be pushed in that direction and I would love for a sort of formation of Death Eaters type group to help him with that. |
