It was a busy holiday, and Joel had quite a bit on his plate for Saturday morning, but his afternoon was looking free. After dropping Corie off with a friend to swim in their pool, Joel was stir crazy. His phone lit up with some kind of ESPN alert, interrupting his thoughts. His thoughts then wandered to Tasha, the cute and very witty case worker that worked with a young boy named Isaac. Isaac was going through a really tough time, and also happened to be a big fan of Joel's, so after emailing for a bit, Joel and Tasha arranged for him to meet Isaac. It went very well and Isaac was such a young bright kid. Joel wanted to treat him to a fun day at a Giants' practice, but couldn't do it without Tasha's help. So they agreed to meet to talk about it, but hadn't decided on a time. It seemed to be as good of a time as any. He sent a quick text asking if she wanted to meet for coffee and soon enough he had a response. He sent her back the location of his favorite coffee shop and a time. A few hours later he sat at D'Espresso, twiddling his thumbs nervously when he saw Tasha walk through the door. Joel stood up and greeted her with an awkward hug. Why was he acting so weird?! Joel pulled out a chair for her and then sat down as they waited for someone to come to their table. "Thanks for agreeing to meet me today. I'm sure you have so much more you could be doing with your day, so I won't keep you."

"I think that you just need to be firm with your mom. Tell her that you love her and you love that she's trying to find you someone that would be good for you and shares in her religious belief, but you just need time to breathe and do it on your own. And there are worse things that being un married, you have a successful career and you're very good at it." He shrugged and found himself thankful that his parents were extreme about football so that they didn't push religion as much as they pushed football for him.

He grinned from ear to ear when she admitted her reason for being here wasn't just professional. "No, definitely not awkward, I'll just have to try and not flirt with you when Isaac is around. That might be problematic, but I'm always up for a challenge." He wiggled his eyebrows when she mentioned the staring waitress and took her hand to his lips, placing a soft kiss on the backside of her hand. "Well I really don't care what she thinks. I'm good with my one drink. And present company."

"Oh thank God. This was going to get a lot more difficult if I had to keep acting. I'm not a great actress and to be honest I'd have to be blind not to have found you attractive but you genuinely have a good head on your shoulders too and its so endearing that you got your daughter that kitten and let her name it that? I mean I'm just kind of going on there with that and that's probably the sort of thing you get all the time so I do apologize for it but in all honesty I think that there was a bit of a spark and I didn't want to look too much into it." That wasn't even babbling but she could see if the thought it might be. Her mouth really was always going or so it would seem.

He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it and honestly that was a charasmatic thing to do. She liked that he did things like that, it was a sign that he might keep her on her toes. "That's good because now I feel like she might spit in your second. She obviously knows who you are. Once you get me that jersey I'm going to have to come back in here, get her really going. Is that bad I went there in my head? You know for what it's worth I think you'll be fine, I had no idea you were thinking anything more than of Issac when it came to me. Just thought you were being nice with the tickets and jersey thing all of that."

He laughed whole-hearted lay and noted how nice it was to have laughter come so easily. Sure Corie made him laugh, but that was in a different way. "Well I'm glad to know the feeling is mutual. You know, I don't think I've enjoyed myself so much with another human being that wasn't my daughter or a teammate in a long time. It's nice. And there's definitely a spark." He could've leaned across the table and kissed her. He could've ran a hand through her hair. But he held back because they were in public, but mostly because he was kind of old-fashioned.mhe wanted to take her out on a date before he kissed her for the first time. Plus with their romantic history with their ex-spouses, taking it slowly might be good for both of them.

He turned and looked at the waitress who was taking an order at another table, but wouldn't take her eyes off their table. Creepy. It came wit the territory though. He turned back to Tasha. "Don't get me wrong, I want to give Isaac all of the fun he deserves. But I noticed from the start that I would like to get to know you better. You just seem so...alive if that's the right word. Most girls I meet say stupid things, or just want to talk about football or my daughter. It gets old. I like that you just want to know me. And I like that we can speak openly about our past." He finished his drink and set it down. "Your jersey is actually waiting for you on Isaac's day. So then you can come in and flaunt all you want."

It was creepy. She didn't know how anyone in his shoes dealt with that kind of thing. She couldn't do it. She had a mouth on her that obviously had no filter. She'd make a horrible celebrity and was just fine with what she was doing with her life. He was right that she was good at her job. She put everything into that after the divorce and it showed to anyone that saw her in action.

"Well you know what? Since it's just you and me today and I got you for a few hours why don't we get out of here and find something else to do? Maybe without the creepy fan club you have here. I mean it's beautiful outside could go somewhere and grab a bite or just talk even. I think an inside glimpse into who you really are would fascinate me. Could give you an inside glimpse too but doubt it's all that interesting compared to you." She smiled over at him honestly slow was better, it added depth. She rushed so much of her life that she knew somethings needed to go slow. She had a ten date rule before sex since her divorce and it really weeded out the losers. If he couldn't do that fine, she'd still take Issac because she wouldn't ever put a cramp in that. "For the record, I really can't wait to get this jersey you speak of. I already have the perfect pair of shoes to wear with it." she gave him a wink and then stood up. "So we pay where exactly?"

"Yeah that's a great idea. Maybe a walk through Central Park would be nice. I love this place, but I really can't stand the pressing stare of Miss Silence Of The Lambs over there. " He stood up and pulled her chair out, motioning for her to lead the way. "Don't worry about it, I prepaid with a tip. We're good here." They exited the coffee shop and crossed the street into Central Park. He fought the urge for a moment, but when they crossed the street he softly took her hand in his. He knew if nothing else he could say it was just habit because of his daughter. But he figured why not see what's acceptable now? "Is this okay?" He asked. "I figured since the business part was over...." He trailed off and studied her face for a reaction.

The Silence of the Lambs thing actually made her laugh which wasn't something she seemed to do as much anymore and she had to admit that it really did feel great too. She picked her purse up out of her lap and hung it up over her shoulder as they headed out. The first thing she'd done was take her sunglasses out of her purse so she wouldn't be squinting the entire time they were outside. There was nothing sexy about someone who squinted constantly and ran into things because of the suns glare.

"Short of the waitress being creepy that was a nice place, I'd never actually been there before. It amazes me that I've lived here for so long now and there are still places I have never been too or seen. I think I could live here another twenty and that would still be the case." She loved everything about the park and was glad that he'd wanted to do this as well. When she felt his hand slide into hers she was actually a little startled but that lasted only a second, it was comfortable. She kept her hand in his as they walked and when he asked she actually did stop and glance at him. "For real? You're asking? You really are a good guy, of course it's fine. It's actually kind of nice someone wanting too, I can't even remember the last time." She gave him a smile and kept walking. "I love it here, I used to dream about places like this when I was a little girl, it's just something that you'd think you'd only see on a postcard ya know?"
