[Warded to Mina]

I find I require intelligent, rational, and logical conversation this week. I do not suppose you would be available?

[Warded Private]
I must remember that patience is a virtue. That until our world is reinvented that there will be those who are hypocritical. Those who preach what they do not practise, and those that will make my head hurt. This is not unusual, and it is not something that should surprise me -- as much as it irritates me.

I do wonder at the self-righteous attitude displayed by those who are clearly among the ones that oppose us. Do they see their own hypocrisies?

It is time to move forward with taking out some of these most likely to stand against us.

[Warded to the Inner Circle]
What have we discovered about our vigilantes?

Additionally, I wonder if it is not time to set those we deem capable of subtleties onto finding more about some specific Aurors or hitwizards. Which brings me to the question - have we determined which we should remove first?

Violence seems to be the trend of the new year and it is something that saddens me deeply; thus I wish to extend my deepest condolences to those who have been effected by its far reaching hands, and encourage them to strive for a world that holds far less of that violence.

And yet, I feel that as a scholar of history I must remind everyone that each time has its own difficulties. Time tends to colour our vision - to give us a sense that our own time is worse than every time past - and yet, a trip through the old issues of the Daily Prophet at Brookstanton reminds us that there have frequently been halfbre werewolf attacks, that at times it has been disagreements between the Muggle and the Magical, at other times disagreements between magical and magical, or between other creatures and Wizards -- Professor Binn's essays on the Goblin Rebellion almost certainly spring to mind -- and many are old enough to remember the war with Grindlewald; Our headlines are not so unique as it is easy to think that they are.

In my studies abroad I also became aware that such things are not unique to Britain. It was when I was in Morocco studying the local history from a historical master of the region that I think I first became truly aware of this. Situations and conflicts that I had always thought of as unique to our country were peppered throughout the history of theirs leading me to a greater understanding that the issues facing of those of Magical bir ability are not so very different after all.

What does this mean for those of us who live today? I do not think it lessens the impact of the attacks or the violence, but perhaps there are lessons to be drawn from the past: Perhaps that past might guide our future.

Or perhaps, I spend too much time with my nose in my books.

I think it's also important to understand that war is something every human being has lived through. We had war long before we were born and there will be war long after we're gone. Of course, all of us love the idea of a peaceful world but I can't help but feel some of those are a bit ignorant to think that such a thing can be accomplished. There will always be an opposing force. I feel the best any of us can do in such situations is do what you can to survive.

If you do spend too much time buried in books, I shall be extremely worried.

True, although I hope that neither of our children will have to raise their children in a world so torn apart by violence. With any fortunate the Dark Lord will have raised our world out of the mire it sometimes finds itself stuck in and we will have a golden era of learning and propsperity - where peace will be at least - more expected. It may be a while in the coming however.

You know that I spend too much time buried in books, but I should like to see you if you are amenable to the notion. If you will pass on to Mother that I will stop by during the weekend to see her as well, that would be much appreciated. As for you, what would you like to do? Lunch? A shopping excursion? Art or museums?

As do I dear brother.

I think it's important to read. Knowledge is everything. I will let her know, I'm sure she'll be delighted to see you. I would have to say museum, definitely. It's been a while since my last visit.

Let us plan on the museum then - Saturday afternoon perhaps?
