Christmas holiday is always one of my favourite times of the year - perhaps because of how many traditions are associated with the time. Despite the losses that many of us have felt this year - members of our family that will not be able to be with us - it is still time to be grateful for those things we do have in our lives. I look forward to the parties and gatherings of both family and friends.

Thoughts on the likelihood of the Aurors being able to actually apply this rule in any real way?

For all the mocking that was done among the Outer Circle, the experience Aurors are already formidable foes. If they can cast these spells - they could likely best some of the Outer Circle. Perhaps that should be something we seek to remind all of them in our practise?

Ma cherie, can we perhaps plan on having all of the families with eligible young men over within the next month or so. I should like to give Laelia a chance to interact with them - perhaps to pick one she prefers conversation with?

It is an interesting question. I spoke to Barty regarding how it was being received and there seemed to be little enthusiasm for the whole idea which will greatly damage their chances of success. The more failure they confront in training, the more they will continue to fail. Nothing breeds failure like failure.

However, that being said, the senior Aurors are still the most likely to be able to manage the Killing Curse under duress or in fear for their own lives. It is not their first instinct to use such spells but now that they can do so, it will be in their minds and we must be aware of that.

I do agree that a little reinforcement of the fact that they can now die as easily as anyone else in battle would be salutary.

	I think a reminder might serve well - even if the Aurors are not likely to be able to utilize the spells in their arsenal immediately. The fact of the matter is that these men are vastly more experienced than many of our younger generation and I would not have us lose any more sons, if we can help it. (Reply to this) (Parent)
