Who: Riley and Tao
What: an unexpected visit
Where: Tao's office

Tao had not gotten a lot of sleep. Thankfully, he did not need a lot. He'd cleaned meticulously of course, then sat on the phone all night. His source did not like to have any suspicion on them that they even liked vampires let alone were indebted to one. So a late night phone call was pushing things. Unfortunately, he did not have a lot of time to placate her. After explaining the problem, and promising this was a final favor she had relented and headed out to the church in the morning. He had laid in bed, no not a coffin, and stared at the ceiling. Usually a good couple of hours in the room, even if it didn't last as long as he would like, were relaxing. He'd instead found he let his guard down more then he anticipated and the shifter had garnered more respect then he had previously expected to give. Worse yet, he wasn't all that sure the rule of keeping things in the room would stick, as they had finished out negotiations inside.

That was upsetting as well. He'd had no problem taking out tribute. He had purposefully given the new leader the information to see how he would deal with it. Seeing if he would reach for that small bit of power, or even more. It would be telling on his position as leader and give Tao some weak points to use. Still, he had planned on enjoying the negotiations. There was nothing like riling up a shifter. Even the idiot power hungry ones.

Deciding sleep wasn't coming he'd headed into work, checking over inventories, new information and new hires. The club was doing well, they had a steady stream of regulars as well as those coming for the thrill of seeing a vampire. He drew up the new treaty and even slipped in a clause regarding collars to see if it would be noticed. The phone call from his plant came early and she had information. Not that it was good, she promised to stay on it. He explained it wasn't necessary, but she felt obligated. If only to spare the pack and vampires more problems.

He accepted a glass of blood to drink, from a blood bank few knew he owned and sat back to rest. Riley should be calling soon so he could pass on the information. The phone call, Tao mused, would be short and to the point. The shifter did not seem to enjoy talking to him much. The thought made his mouth twitch and he almost chuckled to himself.

"I guess not." Riley replied, settling easily in Tao's lap. It was remarkable how often they seemed to be in this position, despite the considerable size that Riley had on the vampire. It didn't much matter when they were in the water, he supposed. "I might start getting pruney." He continued, eyebrows rising somewhat. "Plus," He added, making a face, "There's come in the water - somewhere." He looked over his shoulder and pretended to search diligently for a few moments before turning back to look at Tao with a wide grin on his face. "We can get out soon." He concluded, but the way that he wrapped his arms around Tao's neck and pressed a searing kiss to his lips suggested that it might be later as opposed to sooner.

Tao was, content, to wait, to just touch, taste. He ducked his head to kiss along the hard ridge of muscle at his shoulder while he looked over the water. "You were covered in much more then that when you left last time." He reminded him. Teeth ran just over the skin of his neck, pulling a small groan. He'd not wanted to share a mark during sex for a very long time and closed his eyes against the thought. "Soon. I want you in my bed." He'd miss the warmth of the water, but the heat Riley gave off was a million times better. Not just heat, but light, warmth.

"I remember." Riley replied softly. He did remember, very clearly, how his body had ached for days, no matter what form he took. He had returned to the settlement just before the crack of dawn, since he'd had to bathe first before he could go home. He had a brief conversation with the Elders and had immediately fallen asleep upon falling into his bed. He raised his hand and twisted it around the back of Tao's neck, taking hold while the vampire ran his teeth over his skin. He remembered the feeling of having those fangs sinking into his skin, and it elected a small shiver that ran up his spine and chilled him from his core despite the water. "I want to be in your bed." He murmured in Tao's ear, his breath hot on his skin.

Tao buried his face against his neck, nipping just under his ear. "I hurt you. Speaking of your predecessor." It was as close to an apology as he could give. He had only been poking at the time, seeing how far things had gone within the pack when he really had no right to, but knowledge of the pack workings was scarce outside of the pack. "And how do you want to be in my bed? Strapped down? Stretched out?" He just wanted to see him naked on his sheets, strapped or not, but laid out, waiting.

"Words." Riley replied dismissively, still smiling. He stroked Tao's hair as the vampire's lips and teeth brushed his neck. "And we enjoyed ourselves in the end, didn't we?" He asked, his tone almost gentle. He stroked his thumb over Tao's skin in a slow circle. "I just want to be in your bed." He murmured, "Hard, fast, and comfortable." He licked his upper lip, "Let me show how much I want you."

	He tilted his head into the strokes and laid a kiss at Riley's pulse. "Whatever you wish." He stroked hands down his back and then nodded, "Right, towel then you have run of the room." Riley took one step back, and the air between them felt so thick and charged that he almost couldn't stand it, he had to have his hands on Tao's skin again. He put his hands on the edge of the tub and pulled himself up and out. Every inch of his skin dripped, water running down his skin in little streams. He reached for a towel and buried his face in it, rubbed it over his short blond hair, and then down the rest of his body. Normally he would have just shifted and shaken it off, but he had a feeling Tao wouldn't have liked that very much.

Once he felt sufficiently dried, he turned away from Tao and strode confidently to the bed. There certainly were many, many choice objects he could have selected from the walls and the drawers and closets, but since Riley was confident that this would not be his last time in this room, he passed them by and simply stretched himself out on the surface of the bed and slipped under the top-sheet. He crawled to the foot of the bed and then pulled the end of the sheet up and over his head, grinning at Tao from across the room. "Come get tangled up with me." He said, licking his upper lip.

Tao didn't follow immediately, preferring to watch Riley towel off. Every movement was a flex and stretch of muscle and he thought he might as well indulge. Hitting the switch to silently drain the tub he pulled himself up and quickly dried off himself. His eyes never left the shifter as he strode to the bed. Tensing only slightly wondering what he would want to work with or on.

In the end he left the wardrobe alone, not even moving the straps at the foot of the bed before he slipped into the bed rather then on top of it. His grin pulled another small laugh, his eyes sparked. It was such a wonderful dichotomy. The possible violence, the ability to let go and just, fuck. The reveling in simple luxuries and new sensations. Dropping the towel he walked to the bed, paused at the foot of it before moving to the side and slipping under the cool sheets. "I'm afraid it's too late for that, I'm well tangled, little wolf."

Likewise, Riley kept his eyes trained on Tao as he strode towards the bed. he felt a small rush of cool air as Tao rustled through the sheets. The smooth material still felt strange on his rough skin, but once he had pulled close to Tao again, it didn't matter. He wrapped his arms around the vampire's waist and disappeared under the sheet, pressing kisses to his collarbone, occasionally bowing his head to lick or nip at a nipple.

Tao hadn't expected him to move so quickly, take control so assuredly and groaned, hand moving to the back of his head. His mouth was hot, his breath brushing over his skin. "Thanks." Riley rumbled, his voice muffled by Tao's skin. He'd certainly heard before that he was a good-looking man. The woman in his pack had always liked him - though he'd always attributed that to his family's power. He ran the tip of his tongue from just above Tao's belly button up to his collarbone. "Hm." He let out thoughtfully, humming against Tao's skin. "You know, I can't say I've ever seen your bare back." He said, looking up to the vampire with a rakish grin. He chuckled and shook his head, and lowered it again to press kisses down the middle of Tao's chest. "Probably for the best." He concluded, "Fuck, you're already cold. I'm going to have to warm you up again" He gave Tao's skin a small nip. "You're so much work, Tao."

Tao wriggled under him just a bit. His mouth was too hot and each time his lips touched skin it went right through Tao's body. He raised a brow, "I've been absolutely naked around you, so if you didn't look you may have just lost your chance." His hands slipped up Riley's back as he moved lower, fingers running along his neck. He arched towards those teeth. "I don't warm, Riley. Not unless I've fed, and I don't feed. "I just wasn't looking, I guess. I was otherwise occupied." Riley replied with a smile. He nuzzled his nose into the space just above Tao's bellybutton, pressing featherlight kisses across the skin. He continued his attentions to Tao's body with his mouth, his fingers dancing over the other man's skin, for a good two minutes, and then he raised his head to look at Tao again. A frown tugged at his mouth, his fingers ran through the hair at Riley's temple. "The choices are, unfortunate, for feeding. Phasing a mind so they don't realize what you are doing, odd young people that beg for the 'privilege' because they think there's something special with being chattel." He almost spit the words. A small shake of the head, "I drink donated blood, they have no idea of course, but they were paid to donate to save lives, and that is still technically what they are doing. To feed is, personal." He still garnered the same strength from the blood bags, but even if he heated it up, it wasn't fresh enough, live enough to make him look alive, or feel it.

He had never heard a vampire speak at length about his feeding philosophy before, but he was pretty sure that Tao was not expressing the typical thoughts of the average bloodsucker. Tao gave a small smile. "Are there not rules that you have, that your pack has that you may not understand. You do not know the origins of, but they are the rules, the laws, and so you obey them. It's much the same." He'd come up with his own rules long ago, when he still had an overbrimming of emotions and thoughts still tying him to humanity. He groaned and pressed at the back of Riley's head a bit. "Feeding, marking, both are a permanent and private kind of connection. Few have ever bared my mark and I've bared even fewer. How many do you claim?" It wasn't a demand or even simple curiosity. Though he was very curious if it was only his mate if that.

"Claiming and marking are two different things in my pack." Riley said with a small shrug. "My mate is mine, I don't need to wound her to prove it." At the urging of Tao's hand, he slid his mouth back down the length of Tao's torso. He let out a low growl and adjusted himself so that he was straddling one of the vampire's legs, kneeling, his head bowed to lap small circles over Tao's skin.
