Attention Lakewood Shores Residents!!!
I know the Youth Center is usually closed on Sundays, but since it's the Superbowl today, we've decided to do it up right! All the usual activities will still be available for anyone who wants to come on down, but we're also going to show the game on the big screen and have a ton of snacks and non-alcoholic (of course) beverages available at no charge!
So parents, if you need a safe place for your kids to be while you enjoy your Superbowl Sunday festivities, send them on down to D&B. And kids, if you need a place to hide from your parents and their friends because they're totally old and embarrassing, come on down to D&B!
The center will open at noon, just in time for the pregame show, and will remain open until thirty minutes after the Superbowl ends to give you parents time to come pick up your kids after the big game. As always adults are more than welcome to come join in the fun too, just remember that this is a family-friendly event!

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to all of my staff at D&B Youth Center for making both the center and the haunt such a success. So far, it's been a blast, and the turn out has been great. Thank you all for all that you do.
And a big thank you to the community as well! Thanks for coming out and supporting the youth center and the haunted house and making my dream a success. I look forward to many more years of operation in this town and many more years of making a difference. Thanks to you all, a lot of families in need continue to have food on their tables.
Speaking of which, the D&B Youth Center will be hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner this year. I'll be on the look out for volunteers to help with cooking and serving as well as open to any monetary donations to help in buying the supplies. Details will be forthcoming around the start of November, but I figured I'd give a heads up so people can start thinking about what they can or are willing to commit to in that regard.
Again, thanks for being awesome, Lakewood Shores. You all make me proud to call this town home.

So.. I know everyone has probably noticed by now that part of the D&B Youth Center has been closed off for the last month or so. I figure now is a good time to reveal while. The outdoor paintball course has been converted into a haunted attraction for the month of October! It will open to the public the weekend of October 3rd and will be open every Friday and Saturday night in October from 8pm to 1am.
That being said, I am looking for actors interested in participating in the haunt! You'll get paid for your time, of course, and get to have a great time doing it. Any interested parties need to come by on Sunday, September 21st between the hours of noon and 6pm. Be sure to have an idea about what type of character you would like to play and be prepared to deliver your best blood-curdling scream.

The Grand Opening event here at D&B Youth Center was amazing! Thanks to everyone who attended and to all the people who put their hard work and efforts into making the event, and the weekend, a success. And now on to the stuff I'm sure you really want to hear about...

Just a quick announcement...
This upcoming Friday, August the 8th, D&B is going to be closing early for the night. We'll open at noon, as usual, but doors to the center will close promptly at 6pm. This means there will be no music on Friday night.
But! For those of you 15 and up, there's still something awesome that you can do with your time that night. There's going to be a party at the Ocean House ballroom starting at 6pm for the lovely Victoria Forrester who is celebrating her 16th birthday. So grab a gift, drop by, and enjoy the festivities.
It'll be a great opportunity to not only socialize with some of the people you already know, but also a great way to make one of the newest members of our humble little town feel welcome.

Greetings and salutations, lovely people of Lakewood Shores. It is I, your resident Reznick, here to remind you that the D&B Youth Center will have it's grand opening event this coming Friday, August the 1st!
We have ramps, both indoor and outdoor, for biking and skateboarding and rollerblading and whatever else you can come up with that has wheels. We have an indoor laser tag arena and an outdoor paintball arena. We even have a snack bar with tons of tasty treats. And this Friday, as part of our grand opening, we will have LIVE entertainment on the outdoor stage to kick things off! (Weather permitting) It's going to be crazy!
Remember, no drugs, no alcohol, no bullying. And if you don't have money to pay your way in, bring a donation of any non-perishable item and admission is free! Donations will be sent to local food banks and families in need.
D&B will open promptly at noon with the live music starting at 4pm and continuing until we shut the place down! (Which will happen at 10pm)
So be sure and come out! Everyone's invited. Bring the neighbors, bring the kids, bring your neighbor's kids, but please don't bring the pets. (They might bite.)
As always, we are looking for talented local musicians to play on either of our stages on the weekends and we've still got several part-time positions available for any of you kids out there looking to earn a buck. Just call 555-DUDE to speak to our friendly management staff! (Which consists of me and one other guy.)
We'll be open all Summer long, Monday-Saturday, from noon until 10pm.
