Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

I've decided that I'm never moving from this couch again. Or at least not for the next couple of days.

Logically speaking, I think I overate on the third roast potato but - in my defense - they were awfull tasty, and I'd do it again.

Theres a pile of presents under the tree, and should your name begin with the letters O, P or M then there is a high likelihood that they are for you.

I'll send them. Once I can move.

 And fasten my skirt again.

I take it she's not a fan of the fact that the owl got treats and she didn't?

Its a surefire way to end up with roasted owl for dinner, feathers everywhere and a dog sulking in her basket.

Private to Orsino.

No they wouldn't. Or perhaps they would and then spend time worrying about it so much that they can't go on to well, perform, i guess. Maybe its like knowing if you're crazy. If you're that self aware, does it count?

I can hide! It was always my favourite game as a child. I'm a lifetime champion at Hide and Seek.

And thankyou. For thinking I have a unique sense of humour. Most people consider it an acquired taste, so I'm glad you acquired it.

As it were.

And why do I feel as though I've turned into stilton suddenly ; the marmite of the cheese world.

Guess not. And, no thanks.

You're...welcome?

And I don't know that one would want to compare themselves to stilton.

Not a fan of stilton and oatcakes then? It wasn't a deliberate comparison only a ..

Never mind.

I see we have reached an impasse, friend.

Hm. Since at least one of my band mates already seems to think I'm trying to lure you into bed with me, which I'm not, anyway, but what are you doing for New Years? I don't know that I need a repeat of waking up at noon with a migraine, and if I don't figure out an alternative soon, I think that is exactly what will happen.

We have. Stilton was the kicker. Who knew?

Oh nothing really. I was going to reorganise my books and socks before the bells, but if you don't fancy a migraine I can ask Ol if we can have a New Years Eve party.

Someones bound to have some muggle games, and I can bring out my one culinary contribution to society which is a cheese, pineapple and cocktail stick hedgehog. Possibly bribe Meghan to attend.

Sound like fun?

Probably the smell.

And sounds like a viable option.

Not the taste? Or the fact that the blue bits are Mould. Which is eaten by people voluntarily?

What other options did you have in mind?

Not sure yet. I will have to see what happens.

Like milk? Think about what it is and where it comes from.

Who thought it would be a good idea to drink the white stuff coming from the cows bladders?

Do you practice being a man of mystery or are you just very, very good at it?

Both. Obviously.

I like milk - more than that, I love it. Without it there would be no chocolate, no ice cream and no milkshakes.

And my diet would come crashing down.

I thought as much. Clearly youre 00 and the dog is 7.

I have to say I like that idea very much. (The 00, not your diet being destroyed.) Although I suppose I would need to wear an expensive tux.

You would indeed. Although be careful, some witches have a weakness for men in fitted suits and matching ties. I think its the smell of the polished shoes that set them off.

Lets see, you'd have the suit, the agent status- all you'd need was a flashy yacht and a bevvy of Bond girls. Blondes, prefferably. They always seemed to be Russian blondes.

And yet, shoe polish reeks.

Never been much for the blondes, but I suppose it is a requirement for the role. I'll have to take it, difficult though it may be.

But it makes shoes so very, very shiny.

Oh?

Oh? Poor you, having hot blonde women draped all over you. Its a trial.

One I'm sure you'll bear with dignity and courage.

I'd rather have not-so-shiny shoes than be gagging while trying to make them pretty.

Yes, it is a hard knock life for me, so trying on my virtues.

I Some people tie a handkerchief over their mouth to stop the gagging. Or so I've heard.

Utterly. My heart bleeds for you.

A hundred years ago, you'd have been known as a cad or a rake. Although why a garden instrument I dont know. But yes, women would have swatted you with their purses as you ran off with their daughters.

Virtues? And which one is your favourite?

Such compassion.

Wow, that's not very nice. And I've never been swatted with a purse in my life. Other things, perhaps, but usually in an attempt to get my attention to sign an autograph.

Er...

Why on earth would anyone swat you with anything in order to get an autograph? That defies logic. And frankly, its just rude to hit someone you don't know.

If it happens again, remember to point your elbows. Many a time I've had to use them, they're my secret weapon.

I dont mean it a non nice way. You're a very lovely rake. In fact, possibly you're too nice to be a rake. But you'll make a smashing Bond.

Er?

I don't question fan logic. I just fear it. Though if I pointed my elbows and accidentally hit someone, then all the tabloids would say how I assaulted a fan.

Bond-rake, then?

Have you ever considered a bubble charm? Then you could simply roll through the fans.

Or wrapping yourself up in bubblewrap? But be careful, once you start to pop, you can't stop.

Bond-Rake? Indeed! A cravat and a suit and you're all good to go.

I try not to make people think I'm insane, but one day I may reach that point of desperation.

Muggles have some very odd inventions, admittedly amusing ones.

You're in a band. You're supposed to cultivate an air of mystery and well, bonkersness. All the greats have that.

Muggles are frankly - brilliant - and one of my goals in life is to wrap myself up in bubble wrap and roll down the sand dunes. Possibly whilst in possession of a potion to stop the inevitable nausea that will come from all that rolling.

True. I will have to settle for my air of mediocrity instead.

Wouldn't rolling down a sand dune wrapped in that stuff not really make the bubbles pop much?

You could create an alter ego. How about a spaceman with a fondness for silver lycra?

Or invest in black eyeliner?

Thats sort of the point. Wouldn't it be fantastic? I'm going to have to do it at some point before I become too Responsible. Or wait until I'm over 80.
