Caradoc Dearborn's Journal
My editor is in a strangely good mood today, and it seems to be rubbing off on everybody here. You must understand, this is a pretty unusual experience for us at the Prophet, especially lately.
He's even brought in supper for everyone here (and a good one, too!) working late, which is especially good because I've been getting pretty sick of cold take away. Plus, I've got a big break in a story I've been working on for over a month and I'll be here until who knows when. Some people think it's strange but the late nights analyzing a new angle or getting information from some new witness are my favourite part of the job.
Not too bad, all in all.
I think Maude Wilkes has killed someone.
She hexed an entry into her journal but wasn't specific enough and I was able to read it.
She mentioned going home to get her cat, and killing a boy who saw her.
She said he's buried "under the old mill ruins".
She also mentioned her tutor, from whom she learned "stealth and the ways of pain", but she doesn't mention a name.
There's nothing else worth noting--no names or locations.

To our new members,
I know, for many of you, this was your first real battle, and that can be a shocking experience. You may have a difficult time dealing with the aftermath as well. I know you are all friends, and my only advice is that you be there for each other and support one another.
You all did very well.
Breaking news.
Not really. The breaking news is that there is no breaking news. This is the very definition of a slow news day.
Which is nice, I suppose, because it means we actually get to run a few human interest stories and happier things, for a change.
But it doesn't make for a very fast-paced day on the job. I'm really quite bored.

If they weren't so useful for communication, I'd swear buying one of these things was a mistake.
